Anyone else looking forward to the GEC #83?

First I'd like to say hello. I've been lurking for a while and enjoying everyone's comments and photos. I finally bit the bullet and ordered my first GEC knife (actually knives). The new #83 Northfield clip blade in Natural Stag and Yellow Rose. I just received the stag today and the Yellow Rose is shipping tomorrow. I just opened the package and the knife has exceeded all my expectations. Beautiful, solid, and worth every cent. I took a quick photo and I sure hope this works.

Nice way to start with GEC Alan.

I have a question for those with a Northfield clip and drop point. Is the clip blade easier to open due to the slightly higher long pull? Also, does the tip sit closer to proud on the clip blade?

Welcome Alan.
Let's see if I can't help you with that. I put the address you posted in the address bar and went to that page. Then I rignt-clicked the picture and selected "page info". That gave me a popup. At the top of the popup, I clicked the "media" icon. Then I copied the doohickey that was labelled "image". Very round about method. Must be an easier one but that was how I got this...

Mark, Alan, great knives!

I love the #83s stag (I've got one, another one is still "on the boat") and yours are looking spectacular!
Although I have to say that the orange bone and the autumn bone are very appealing in Mark's picture as well ...

... maybe I ... well, maybe not ... however ... mmh ...

(And beautiful picture as well, Alan!)

"Drew fine rich colour on that Camel Bone, very nice looking example indeed."

Thank you Will, hoping you get yours very soon!

"First time I've seen a clip next to the drop point, you're not helping me Drew."

LOL sorry Redsparrow... I am really liking the clip blade on this model, I am torn on a plan of action .. I want a PPP for my collection (would be my first) and I want a clip for a user... hmmmm

I had the same issue. Couldn't look past the ppp etch and the video on knivesshipfree convinced me the ebony drop point was worth buying. But the clip points in all these patterns are just plain sexy so I am reconsidering the order!

So far I have a drop point in ebony and clip point in camel bone and in Autumn jig bone either bought or reserved, and am fighting the urge not to add the clip point in cocobolo.

What is the record for the number of GEC knives bought by a first time customer in a calendar year?

Do the Un-X_led's come with a slip Frank?

Thanks everyone (until I learn everyone's names). Using this iPod is tough on these old eyes. Promise I'll figure it out. I purchased the slip separately Steve. I figured my first GEC deserved a nice home. Now waiting on the Yellow Rose.
