Anyone else looking forward to the GEC #83?

I am just loving the opportunity to get my hands on some satin finished Northfields! Been few and far between, especially the stag versions  Much preferred over the polished versions to my tastes :p

Just received my last Burnt Stag 83 Clip Blade Saturday and it had some pretty fat stag on it. Shown with my 73 for a little comparison.

The lock initially was very tight to unlock , but it improved quickly.

Harry, I think I caught your #83 stag bug  Just ordered up my 3rd, a clip point with some drop dead gorgeous covers. They sure did put some primo stag on these little guys

I am not at all sorry that you have caught Stag Bug. I am happy that I may have enabled you in any way. The thickness on my 83 Clip version is way fatter than my 2 Drop Points. I originally had 4 choices to take and somebody nabbed " C " right in front of me. He must have got a heck of a nice one if he chose it over my " A ". Looking forward to seeing your Jamie.

Well, my path crossed with serial number 2 in the natural stag clip version. I put in my request for it when paying so, here is hoping it wasn't already sold. Number 2 for my daughter's birthday.

The stag on these is nothing but exquisite. Anyone know if GEC will make this in stainless? My friend would buy one if the are. I tend to agree with him in a preference for stainless in a lockback.

OK, I've been loving everyone's posts and pics. I have been a fan of this knife ever since I saw the concept. But there have been so many knives released by GEC this year, and the $ has not been there to even buy 1/2 of those, so I wasn't sure if it was going to happen for me with the #83. BUT - I have the finest popcorn stag clip on the way, it will be my first ever stag, and I am stoked! Should be here Wednesday. Thanks again for all the great photos and reviews, Markesharp, OldEngineer, KBA, et al.:thumbup:

Glad we could help Brad !!!! Glad to see another Stag coming to Wisconsin.

Harry, do you like the Stag being so thick on your # 83 ?
kj

I like it because it is different and a bigger hand full. What I do not like about it is that the length of the transition from good stag down to the bolster has to be longer. That transition ROBS me of more good stag. Sometimes you just have to have a trade-off I guess. Thanks for asking !

My second model 83, cocobolo covers, should be here tomorrow. That will give me a Northfield clip point to go with my Tidioute green micarta drop point.

GRRRRRRR!!!!! Darn Enablers. Thought I could resist the temptation, but ended up yesterday pulling the trigger on a Purple Sage Satin Drop Point I think. First two dealers sites rejected my CC. Tried a third dealer and received an order confirmation, so I guess it went through on the third time???? Just couldn't resist getting one, unless in the end my card doesn't go through with the third dealer. Then I guess I have resisted.........

I have resisted........

The item was listed wrong. So, back to the hunt :)

Hey guys, I need your help!

I can afford one more #83, and so far I don't have a clip blade. So should I go for an ebony Tidioute or an Autumn Bone Northfield?

Thanks for your feedback!

... and as a compromise I finally ordered a Purple Sage Jig Bone Tidioute ...
