Anyone else looking forward to the GEC #83?

One thing I will say is that the nail nicks on the Tidioute's are easier to open than the northfields - the swedge on the top makes it difficult to pinch open, so using your nail is a must.

... and as a compromise I finally ordered a Purple Sage Jig Bone Tidioute ...

My first (ever!) stag. The popcorn stag on this #83 is just unbelievable. I am like a kid in a candy store! Whooeeee, I waited forever, looking for the right popcorn stag, but could never find "the one." Well, I found it. Oh, fit and finish, lockup, perfect - thank you GEC. I am truly amazed that this stag could be sawed, and attached to a knife, with my favorite shield pinned to it no less! WOW. (sorry if my post is over-the-top, but I'm flabbergasted and drooling)

Pretty cool indeed! And nice to see your enthusiasm, that's the most important thing ...

So Brad, how's the grip :D

Here are my #83's. The stag, Cocobolo and Purple Sage all landed today. They all have been sharpened and are ready to go. The stag won the pocket.

Asked Mike for a dark cocobolo clip and he delivered.

Coolio very nice popcorn Stag, very gnarley looking:thumbup::), if I could use that term...waiting for an 83 with stag covers myself.

Sean perfect! Dark Chocolate!!!

Brad,
REALLY NIFTY STAG.

The scale and blade choices for the 83 are ALL BEAUTIFUL. :)

Brad: that stag is exceptional.

Jamie: great grouping!

Sean: that dark cocobolo looks well patina-ed--like it's been carried for decades!

Man I just love this pattern!! So good. So small you don't even notice it in your pocket, but large enough for most daily tasks. And. Just. Gorgeous! I wish I had the funds to keep a hundred of them. Here is a pic of some great stag:

and here is a little video I did of the pattern as well: https://youtu.be/t_s4jxFfJnw

There's a lot of beautiful #83's showed here and it was impossible to resist buying at least one!

I had a lot of trouble choosing among the Stag options.
When I had decided on a particular knife, it was already gone.

Luckily for me, new knives were added on an almost daily basis and I finally found one that was in stock.
I looked for barrelshaped scales, to ensure handfilling propertie's on this small model.
The color was also important and this was my choice:

I have carried and used the knife, for a couple of days at work and the walk&talk is to my liking.
It's a small knife, but it works perfectly for all the small cutting chores during a working day.
This thread sure helped me in the decission to get the #83 and I'm glad I pushed the button in time.

Regards
Mikael

Beautiful coloring on that one. That is the great thing about stag, you can generally find one that pleases you in appearance and utility.
