Anyone else looking forward to the GEC #83?

No Rick, it was listed as "sheepfoot" in the list of knife specifications. Check over at CK and give it a look.

The #83 is nice and small (very similar in size to the Buck 055 - within a 1/16" as to frame length and blade length).

That will make it very easy to carry it as a companion knife to a larger knife in the same pocket. As an example, I have been carrying a Buck 055 and a GEC #73 in my right front pocket together for some time.

I'll see if I can get an 83 in ebony.

When the picture right above the spec showed a drop point, that should have been an indicator of a goof-ball typing in the details. But, nonetheless, to make it official it was a finger-check. ;)

I had that figured out Mike - just hadda keep you on your toes.

I received an email today informing me that my 83 is on its way! I am looking forward to this little Lockback.

Does anyone have an idea when the Northwoods #83s are expected at the distributors?

Thanks for the info!

Northwoods are only sold through KSF, I believe.

I thought the black camel was already released. While they do look white for the most part, I still believe the are black as listed on KSF.

Northwoods or Northfields? I haven't heard that Derrick was doing an SFO?

Yep, sorry, of course this should have been "Northfields".
Although I really like Derrick's SFOs, this time I'm hunting for stag covers ... ;)

I've heard nothing but good things about these. I might have to try one out, although I'm not usually a fan of lockbacks. Still hoping they will so a slipjoint version at some point.

I loved the Cocobolo Northfields that were coming through the line when I did the tour at the Rendezvous but the Ebony is so clean! I think I need one and your pictures are pushing me over the edge...AHHHHHH

I haven't seen a cover I wouldn't want, which speaks to the appeal of the pattern itself.

The Northfield "feathered" jigging is exceptional, as are the other choices under both brands.

Sweet, sweet little lockback, this, an elegant, slim stalwart.

... Ebony for the win.
