I worked in the field as a tactical field operations specialist for the past 3 years.
The details of my work are classified and listed as "top secret" therefore i cannot divulge any information in regards to the work i have completed
all i can say is that a knife like the Razr looks like one helluva tool and i wish i had it during my ventures into the woods behind my house.. i mean into the unknown jungles of south america.
.....
seriously, i've hiked bc for a few years and never seemed to need anymore then a decent folder like my spyderco endura or a good fixed blade like my grohmann #4. in the backwoods a saw or an axe is an added bonus. i couldnt imagine carrying anything like the RAZR around while hiking or walking about in the marsh areas near my place or through the grand national parks which bc is famous for. although i do own large choppers in my collection like the HI khuk and RtakII, i've only ever seemed to need them when i go camping in backwoods. i have seen people walk around on the trails with ridiculous looking fixed blades or even what i think as unnecessarily large fixed blades (9inch+ for a regional park; 30 min hike tops) given the area they're travelling.
majority of people i know who serve in the armed forces seem to carry multitools first and foremost. some carry spydies or emerson folders and once in a while i've met a soldier who carries a large fixed blade.
i have to agree that the razr is ridiculously priced IMO. a busse could easily bought at that price i believe. Mr. J. Lightining, your website lists that you support the troops but i havent really seen anything on there about offering discounts to soldiers who may consider using your knife.
to the rest of the forum, please excuse my ramblings, just putting some thought into the thread.
