Nice this thread is still alive!!I care because I care about knives; if you don't, then why are you here?
What does a guy selling a knife for 600 bucks have to do with me caring about knives?
I like collecting knives (mostly the historical aspect like a lot of people here)
I have a long history in MY life with knives (as well as my father, my knife "mentor")

See my Young Trent posts and tell me I don't "care" about knives

I don't claim to understand it's "workings"It's kind of depressing to see yet another self-professed advocate of the free market fail to understand its workings.
No one does...Economists rarely agree..It's all "models" anyways with unrealistic assumptions
I have been trying to figure out it's workings for about 22 years now....
This is the only thing I could find relating to "reputation" and the Invisible Hand
From An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith
When the quantity of any commodity which is brought to market falls short of the effectual demand, all those who are willing to pay... cannot be supplied with the quantity which they want... Some of them will be willing to give more. A competition will begin among them, and the market price will rise... When the quantity brought to market exceeds the effectual demand, it cannot be all sold to those who are willing to pay the whole value of the rent, wages and profit, which must be paid in order to bring it thither... The market price will sink..
I knew someone would accuse me of being in cahoots with Mr. LightningI don't know what dog you have in this fight, but you're wrong.
It's actually kind of flattering
I wrote ====>And maybe the prices will go down or the product won't be profitable if responsible people get the word out.
If the guy is selling overpriced crap then the market will dictate his fate==>
He will go out of business for lack of sales
Anyone disagree with this assessment??
Anecdotal evidence has no validity with me for future referenceI recall some people asking similar questions about journalistic scandals at the New Republic and the New York Times. As I recall, those people had a political stake in pretending that those scandals were no big deal.

I do predict that Mr. Lightning will lower his prices drastically in the near future
If not then he might stay in business maybe a year at most
Not trying to fan the fires again
I felt I needed to rebut the accusations against my knife lovin' character and motives
So
No one has tested the knife yet??..............
