I hate you right now. Id love to go fishing.

But instead, the kids are out of school so i have to play daddy.

If you were closer I would welcome you to come with. I'm just getting back into ice fishing after not doing any for a long time, so I'm really having fun with it.

Oops. I thought you posted that. It was actually the Hoss. My mistake....

But feel free to send me that cutter anyway...lol:D

LMAO thats what i figured :D

I wish we were not on other sides of the country, id love to see that Siegle up close and would enjoy letting someone else see how impressive this comp cutter is.

I still want a custom sheath made for the Keffeler, but its SO SO hard to send it out to have one made. I got a package in USPS right now thats lost. It left Chicago on the 2nd, 18 days ago and then went up to CANADA??? it was suppose to come to philadelphia... That makes me even more skeptical about mailing the Keffeler anywhere. Its the most i ever spent on a knife (worth every penny) and even though i could insure it for what i ever i wanted, I still couldnt buy this knife again. Not this one, not the one in the video where he chops thru the 2x4 in 1 hit. Not the knife that won the derby at the 2011 national championships. And that history means more to me than 2 new comp cutters. I was already offered several hundred over what i paid for it and turned it down, even if i could buy another one, i couldnt buy THIS ONE.

I guess im silly like that, anything with a history or anything personal i dont like letting go of. Like the BK2 Ethan engraved his signature on and mailed to me, i would never send that thing anywhere, its still sitting pretty in mint condition, I got another one to use. And i even still have the address label from the box too.... Why? because it said Ethan Becker on it and showed he personally mailed the knife to me. That makes it personal, which makes it special to me.

I'm the same. I can fish all day and not catch s thing and be fine with it.

C'mon, now....who wouldn't want this?

The grinds are nice.

Maybe it's just me... all those bedazzling features/patterns/colors on such a small palette (so to speak) just make my eyes hurt. In other news, I was actually looking forward to the Ka-Bar Snody's but I can't past the goofy milled scales... yeah we get it, your name starts with "S"

So seahawks and broncos are going to the superbowl. I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

I know, right? I cannot bring myself to pull for the 'Hawks, and being a Raider fan I certainly can't root for the Broncos, so... maybe I'll just watch the Lingerie Bowl or rent a movie this year :(

I understand that, having it get lost in the mail would be awful. Is it possible there's anyone close to you where you could take it to have a sheath made?

I wouldnt know where to begin looking really. I dont know of anyone from the boards that makes sheaths near here, and ill check google but i never seen any knife makers around here either.

Maybe ill look through some of the threads about sheaths and just see if i can find any member around Philadelphia making sheaths.

Yep!! There's days it seems like the fish jump in your hands, there's days you dont see a single bite, but set me next to the water and im happy regardless how the fish feel.

Well, I just got done filling out the paperwork and writing the check to be a exibitor at Blade show 2014. Whoow whoo!! Any of you Beckerheads plan on going? Me, Murph and the wife will be there with bells on. Hope I dont forget to pack the asprin this time.

I used to ice fish a lot as a kid. had a lot of fond memories with my Grandpa doing that. Ice fished a lot in high school too. unfortunately, our winters havnt gotten cold enough for long enough for the past several years.

Why dont you try to make a sheath yourself? the good thing about leather work is that you can get started with very little investment. You obviously have the time.

That sucks that you don't get the ice to be able to do it anymore. I'd send you some info could...... we have plenty. Where I was fishing yesterday there was 30" of ice. Its getting close to being thick enough that we might need to put extensions on our augers.

Just leave me that comp cutter before ya go!:D

Wait bighoss has a comp cutter too ???? I want PICS!!!

Oops. I thought you posted that. It was actually the Hoss. My mistake....

You'll get nothing and like it!

I'm hoping that the stadium collapses right at kickoff and no one is declared the winner. Seriously, the two teams I actually loathe are in the superbowl. :barf:

I live about 4 miles from a national wildlife refuge. Before it was a refuge, My grandpa owned a 500 acre farm there, Its where my Dad was born and raised. About 40 years ago they flooded some of the states best farm ground and woodsland to make two large (150 acre or so) lakes. one of them covered on of my dads favorite squirrel hunting spots when he was a kid. Anyway, from going out there with my dad so much, I know the lay of the land UNDER the lakes. I know where all of the creeks where at which now forms the deeper channels of the lake which equals warmer water during ice fishing. When i was in high school, a couple of buddies and I used to go out there and catch buckets full of pan fish. It was funny to see other fisherman out there looks on there faces that where fishing 30 yards from us and never got a bite. Lol, those where some fun times.
About 6 to 8in. of ice is the most ive ever seen on our local waters, but that has been many years ago. now that Im a full grown adult pushing better than 250lbs, that ice better be better than 4in. before I trot my fat a$$ out on it. that just doesnt happen often enough here anymore.:grumpy:

..

It's not just you. My head literally started hurting when I looked at all those shimmery colors. Then again, I also just woke up and am still drinking my first cup of coffee.

Being a St. Louis native, I personally gave up on the NFL when Jim Hart retired and the ST LOUIS CARDINALS FOOTBALL team move to Arizona. But my wife is a Denver native, so you know who I'm rooting for now!

That's great!! Its amazing how even just a few yards can change whether there are fish or not. The lake I fish has been flooding for the better partbof the last 20 years.....it just keeps grwoing. There is a ton of structure from roads under water to rock piles in what once used to be farmers fields. I think the lake is something around 130,000 acres now and has actually engulfed other lakes. When I was a kid we used to drive by a little creek that rarely even had water in it.....yesterday I was fishing right by that creek in 18 feet of water.

Ate there twice at the last Blade. If you go, look for a pile of empty plates on one table and a pair of feet sticking out from under the table cloth. There may be moaning.
