Good luck man, hope it goes well for ya.

Thanks Dubz. Id be stupid to not go this year. My whole family is going to Florida on vacation the week after Blade. Since Im going to drive, I might as well leave a couple days early and do the Blade show, Its on the way, My folks are gonna fly themselves and my kids down, so, It really works out. Plus, last year being my first year there I didnt know what to expect AND I was a nervious wreck. This year I think I know what to expect and can go and enjoy myself. As far as selling knives goes, Last year I sold 14. I was told by just about everybody there, that was unheard of for a first timer. Andy Roy from Fiddleback told me he sold 8 his first year, so, that was pretty encouraging. Meeting the people and not being treated like a newbie everywhere I went was the coolest thing. I think this year, I can actually sit back and enjoy it a little more. Hope to see a lot of you guys there.

So am I going to have a Tina Hunt shirt to wear while I am there?

Well, I just got done filling out the paperwork and writing the check to be a exibitor at Blade show 2014. Whoow whoo!! Any of you Beckerheads plan on going? Me, Murph and the wife will be there with bells on. Hope I dont forget to pack the asprin this time.
I'm planning on being there, I was actually thinking of talking to you about caravaning down.

I'm the same. I can fish all day and not catch s thing and be fine with it.
That sounds like my brother he is always either out fishing or talking about fishing or cleaning the fishing rods, or shopping for tackle and string.
I actually got my first fishing rod this year, along with a fishing license. Went out a crap load of times never had the best time but never had a bad time. I'm thinking I might just be a passive fisher.

You'll get nothing and like it!

I'm hoping that the stadium collapses right at kickoff and no one is declared the winner. Seriously, the two teams I actually loathe are in the superbowl. :barf:
I would be ok with the stadium roof falling onto the field. Although I will admit, I would like to see Peyton get a ring. He has had a hell of a year this year.

Where's my damn shirt?

About to hit a new trail. I'll try to get a pic or two.

I thought 14 sounded pretty damn good to me, last year when you were talking about it. Be even better this year.

Oh yeah, are you having shirts made again?

Cbear, caravaning would be a possibility, however, You would have to find a way back from Atlanta cause Id only be a one way trip. After Blade Im heading straight from there and gonna make my way down to Florida and do some deep sea fishing with my cousin.

Be sure to hook up with us. It will be good to see you and Ang again if she comes.

Absolutely! It works out good for us because ATL is fairly close, and as long as I buy some stuff for the shop I can write off part of the expense. I think we'll spend more time just hanging out with certain people instead of trying to see every single booth at the show. There are really only about a dozen makers and probably half a dozen vendors I'm really interested in talking with... maybe catch a seminar or two. Honestly, most of the rest of it is stuff I can see online any time.

It's not just you. My head literally started hurting when I looked at all those shimmery colors.

I've seen a lot worse (or better, depending on how you look at it). Some of the custom stuff has everything but the kitchen sink thrown on it... 2 or 3 kinds of damascus, mosaic pins, carving, fossiled T. Rex penis bone, engraving, gems, gold plating, filework... blech. Clearly those cats never took a design class... but hey, to each his own. *shrug*

Ate there twice at the last Blade. If you go, look for a pile of empty plates on one table and a pair of feet sticking out from under the table cloth. There may be moaning.

Last year was my first time... I'd heard some of you guys mention it, and Angie had been there before for a work thing, so she was like "heck YEAH let's go there!" I was really pleased with both the food and service (even though they were slammed)... I don't remember what our bill was but I remember thinking it was pretty darn reasonable. I even talked the waitress into getting me a pint glass with their logo on it :)

The Tilted Kilt on the other hand, was just awful. Terrible service, lukewarm overpriced beer (rather than pouring one at a time they were just filling up pitchers, leaving 'em on the backbar, and filling glasses from those... yeah, thanks, $6 for a flat warm beer that's been sitting out who-knows-how-long ), every TV in the place was absolutely blaring... it was like a bad parody of an Applebee's :thumbdn: No one I recognized showed up so we just had one pint, went to a liquor store and took a bottle back to our hotel room.

If anyone wants to meet up and go out for a couple beers one night, let me know. We have a friend there who plays in blues bands and knows all the cool bars outside of the touristy-trap stuff right on the strip. I know there are places right near the venue, but I'd rather share a cab with another couple or two than deal with that kinda place again.

*sigh*
I will likely be in Florida the week of Blade, but getting ready to sail, so bleh.

Oh my God Todd, you Tease! Talk to me about handle material then stop talking to me ? Now Im going CRAZY, crazy I tell you.

It'll get worse.... Wait until pictures randomly pop up with it in the background in the "On tap at Todd's" thread or if I randomly post a pictures with my grubby mitts all over it. :D

I've been planning on ordering an M-18 from you. Can I get one with this for scales? It sounds really impressive.

The problem is, the handle seems flimsy when you take it out, but the more you use it the longer the handle gets...

Good luck with that. That's Todd's design. :D

Sure!! I got a whole pile of 'em out back. You prefer plain or dyed? :p

I was only half-kidding... google "oosik" or "walrus oosic"...

Ooops.... Clearly I need more coffee. I'm sure there was something I wanted to order from you. And the walrus might be even better than the T Rex.

If there isn't already, we'll just make something up!

I haven't priced oosic lately... or ever, actually. I imagine it's on the pricy side but I don't really know.

I'm not playing hard to get Thorny, just don't have any new info for you at the moment. But while I got ya here I do have another question. I suppose you want the sheaths to match as well? If I remember correctly it had a mohogany dyed basket weave?

Won't happen... IIRC, the stadium for this year's game is open air - no roof to fall. :D
