I have a savage MK II TR (.22lr) and I love that thing. Thinking about getting a 93 TR for a little more range. Out to 80 yards that MK II tr is a tack driver. Haven't had much chance to push it out past that.

that's a good little rifle. shoots sub 1 inch groups at 100M quite nicely.

Eh, Ka-Bar can keep the Snodys (MO). I'm not impressed with them. I will say though I do like the Dog's Head copper Barlow and the offering from the TDI camp.

so you're telling me you don't like them? :D

man. i'm kinda amused. i suggested "WharnStalker" on day 1. was told that was a silly name. they went with "GameChanger"...

and magically without notice, they chose WharnStalker :D hahahahhah...

Wharncliffffffen be one of the best patterns ever

so Steve has a Nessmuk, a Wharny, a Parang (with a sweet tip), and a hell-of-a-chopper. not bad not bad.

kinda interesting that all those other knives share his handles too.

Solid week's worth of drinking under my belt. Time to take the recycling.

I'd go through those and get all the drips in a bucket. Might be a swallow or two.

My SAK has landed in Serbia and awaits bubinga burl scales. Cant wait to see how it looks when its finished.

I would imagine. The MK II tr is about the best (and most expensive) .22lr on the market before jumping up to competition models, or at least it was back when I bought it. The idea was to use it to develop my long range skills (as much as you can with a .22) before I start dropping serious coin on the center fire stuff.

Back when I sold beer at Braves games, we had a guy that would do that with the empties in his tub (we had to pour from cans to cups) and make an extra $3.50 plus tip.

poor little red fox LMAO, also seen otter, badger, racoon, coyote, mink, seal and walrus.

Walrus is the real expensive one, some of the others are under 10 bucks, but im not sure what you could do with this LOL... poor poor little fox....

Shape it into a toothpick and keep it in your 'possibles' pouch... or medicine pouch... you wear it around your neck.

Doc

edit to add: looks like everyone had the same thought.. its what i get for letting my reading pile up and reply when I see something i want to comment on.

WW apparently you just don't know a good toothpick when you see it, while most of your beckerhead brothers do.. Better pick up the pace some... heh heh

I'll never buy beer at a sporting event after this :D

The CZ rifles are competitive with the Savage line in the sub-$500 category. I've shot my ZKM at 200yd with open sights (at a gong). One day I'll scope it at that range for kicks.

Worked on 5 in-progress knives last night, moving each a little step forward and catching up on the backlog. Today I worked on 6 older ones, taking care of nagging issues in my personal stable. 3 got sheath adjustments, 2 got their handles oiled, 1 got a bunch of handle re-shaping (now needs a new sheath). The year-1 stuff and first attempts at various models usually need a little attention after the bugs are worked out in later revisions. I always keep those and sell the more refined successors. This produces the odd result of having mostly mediocre examples of my own work. I have to go out of my way to make refined versions for myself, or go back and clean up previous attempts where possible.

I even took the BK-17 and BK-10 off the shelf, but didn't get around to fondling them.

it does say 'orders to go'!

eating street meat is an art.
I had good luck in NYC.

I saw your post earlier about being in Florida during the Blade show. where abouts? Im heading there right after, of coarse Im sure you will be working, I will be fishing and drinking. Don't be surprised if you pull a drunken knifemaker aboard for rescue :D

"team savage" shoots with off the shelf rifles in various calibers - now, mind, they do get to choose "best of 10 or 20", but still, off the shelf, against rifles costing 10-20x more?

and they win...

the "old guys" at my club shoot 200 yds, without optics, with .22LR, and are stupid good.

the ones that use optics are even stupider good.

something to aspire too :D

and what they can do at 50 yds with a pistol. sick.

Caught a stomach cramp while running. Just can't figure it out.
