August 2021 BOTM, 120 in D2, ironwood and brass

yep. they seem to be better built than the American made ones I've used. i know this is unpopular, but sadly true for me. plus Mexico is still North America.šŸ˜‰

Yea, Mexico has some of the finest leather workers found anywhere in the world. I like American made, but when it comes to sheaths in particular, I’ll gladly buy something made in Mexico.

I’m with you on the D2 too. 5160, 3v, or 12c27m and I would have been in…. Heck, I might have even went for 420hc, with a cheaper price. That ironwood is bound to be gorgeous…. And on such a big handle…. Sweet! I’m just not a fan of D2, especially on such a large knife. :(

Half have already sold out - currently 245 left. I have yet to receive the email notice. Has anyone received the Buck email (I have received the email for the previous months) ?

EDIT - I see Vaporstang received the email, so I assume others also did. I guess it is my turn to not receive notification. Saved by bladeforums once again !
got the email at 2:15pm est.

another email I use signed up to receive emails from Buck got it at 2:06pm.

exactly....on everything ya said there, Sir

I am not sure that the blade steel on the Blade of the Month knives really makes any difference. I would be willing to bet that the 99% of the buyers will never even use it!

The price seems a little high for a D2 blade, though.

matters to me though. not really a d2 fan. I do use some of them.

I recieved the email from Buck at 11:00 am pst, I did not see the email until 12:00 and placed the order, Buck conformation email came at 12:05 pm pst. I wonder how fast the knife will arrive at our homes.

I like D2 . I don’t like edge 2000 and will pass.

after hours trying to correct the LOW first 1ā€ of edge from the handle on this I’m not willing to chance it . Seems like this is on going problem with some other latest buck knives I’ve received. It’s a shame ! Everything else spot on, the edge :(

I didn’t get a text message like the last few months but I received the email this time around 11 am. Shows it was sent at 6 am but must have been hung up in a server.
I’m going to pass again. It is a nice looking knife but like others D2 on that long blade don’t seem so inspiring. And I spent a chunk o money on my grandkids for a new four wheeler. Lol.

I got away only having to buy mine a snow cone machine this summer... lots of $ left for knives I really NEED! šŸ˜‚ Although we ARE looking forward to the day they're old enough for a four wheeler.

This one was a hard decision for me... pros: no fuller, Ironwood, Brass. Cons: price, D2.

Plus coming on the heels of my experience with my previous two purchases turning up with quality issues, also made me a bit
reluctant to spend that kind of bucks only to have it arrive with issues.

But having said that... I couldn't resist the Ironwood & brass to go with my 119, so I pulled the trigger on one and have my fingers crossed.
