August 2021 BOTM, 120 in D2, ironwood and brass

Maybe I’m unique but I dig a fuller on the blade. D2 doesn’t matter so much to me as I only use a couple knives I own. The rest just sit. Gathering dust.
I know we all like our knives, no doubt. But I’ll start a thread on show your true blue working knives. Wear and tear preferred pictures.

Any guesses/wishes for the August BOTM?
Wishes for September BOTM:

Model 124 Frontiersman
◉ Checkered, cherrywood or reddish Dymondwood handle (like the old, green Masters Series)
◉ Premium steel blade (D2, S30V, S35VN ...)
◉ Brass pommel and finger guard
◉ Lanyard hole (like the old #122/124 Nemo/Frontiersmen) with a paracord lanyard (!)

or

Model 121 Fisherman
With scaler (serrated top edge), like the original #121
◉ Premium steel blade (D2, S30V, S35VN ...)
Stainless steel pommel and finger guard, to add a little extra weight to the handle
◉ Classic black, phenolic handle

Where can you see that?
by putting in the cart and checking out and changing it to a big number say 90..... it tells ya there is a limit of 3, and then says only 78 left. I just checked and thats how many are left.

on botm sept....
id prefer sept to be another 3v fixed blade myself. d2 isn't a steel i prefer. low toughness and needs a toothier edge. prefer just about every steel Buck uses over it.

I'll be dreaming about that 124 tonight ! (But not in a weird way . . . unless you think a 124 in a bikini is weird).

For ya'll that don't like D2 you can order a S30V no fuller Iron wood for $207.00 in the Custom shop. I just want to help...

I know the answer is going to be right in front of me - but I don't see where you can customize a 120 General; I don't think Buck gives the option to customize the 120 General at all. When I click on "Build a custom knife" - there are 10 knife options. I don't see a 120 General option. And when I go to the standard 120 General page, again I don't see an option for customization. Thank you for your help.

I agree with jb, especially for a long fixed blade like the 120, 124 and 119, I’d rather have 3V, S35vn, cpm 154 over D2 with 3V being my top choice. Even 420hc is much tougher than D2. I have one each of the 119,120 and 124 in 420hc and they are plenty good for regular outdoor use. I thick the smaller blades and folders are where the premium steels shine .

Hi folks, this is my first post, and I'm not sure if it's the right place to ask this question: why is the Buck 120 called General? Does the name allude to a general purpose knife?
Thank you very much for your reply.

Brilliant hack! Thank you. I'm astonished that there are still 60 left. I thought this would sell out within hours. I literally ran to my PC once I saw it on my phone and banged in my order.

I think bucksway bucksway meant a #119. I actually had a #119 custom in my cart with Ironwood, brass and S30V when the BOTM came out. So I grabbed a couple of 120s and canceled the #119. I think the D2 issue is largely academic, since I doubt many (any?) people will actually use their BOTM 120.

There is no way to customize the 120 General on the Buck website. So I just tried that configuration for the 119 - the $ is the same as bucksway mentioned; so I think you are correct.

I think I have a problem...I literally own more knives now than I do posts on Bladeforums, lol. 😆
Easiest way to fix that…. Post a bunch more! Although I suppose that may work the exact opposite.. more posts.. more knife ideas.. more knives… double edged sword right there (hey, September BOTM idea…? Double edge something-or-other? Wishful thinking 😁 😍)
Either way. Always happy to see/read posts from Buck fans/collectors/users :)

Not to be too critical of another person's "business model" but it wouldn't hurt my feeling much if this crimps the style of a few of the eBay "RARE!!! Limited Edition Buck BOTM No Longer Made!! RARE!!! only $300" guys 😂 Easy to make that sale when they sell out in less than 24 hours... 3-4 days? Not so much.
