Bad experiences with BladeGoblin

kristopher_robin, has he provided you with any proof that he actually sent the knives, or is it his word that you are going by?

Since the "Artsig" thing sticky'ed/put to rest, truly no reason for I to comment much here as of late. Thought this may help though. Had a Trade deal with Bladegoblin around 8 months ago I sent my item with confirmation and he claimed to have sent his item to I.....Upon his item NOT arriving I asked for confirmation Digits so i could assist with follow up, his reponse was it never happens, BUT this time he just sent it with NO record (hey I guess it happens :-) MORE importantly after being informed of ME not receiving MY item from him (we waited a reasonable amount of time just in case). HE immeditely returned the item I had sent him, with NO issues at all no questions asked! He Couldnt prove that he sent it, don't really know what happened:confused: nor care. , BUT he DID MAN UP quickly, and returned what was mine:) Just (1) Instance I know, BUT acted honorably none the less what can i tell you????. This was just my expierence nothing more hope it helps.

A few years ago I sent a bunch of used (but expensive) tech books to Ukraine, in one big package, by USPS with $700 insurance. They were addressed to a family member but intended for me to use when I was down there.

Three months later the books arrived, and I went to the local post office to claim them. The bastards wanted several hundred dollars in duties on my own sodding books, so I told them that I'm not accepting the package -- send the bastard back. ( as hell).

Fast forward six months. I'm back in the US. An insurance claim has been filed with the USPS and they, having no record of delivery or where the damn thing was, paid the $700. I bought new copies of my books.

Fast forward a year. An unexpected and badly battered large box is delivered by USPS to my door. I kid you not. The books were all there, albeit rather worse for the wear. I sold them on Amazon at a steep discount, and that was that.

So the moral of the story is, if you send a package that-a-way intending it to arrive in a couple of weeks, you might actually get it back before two years are up!

Insurance is a must! Better, yet, insurance and the use of a courier that'll deliver with signature confirmation. Knives are small.. it's not like 20-30 lbs of books.

hate to say but i agree 110%, i do this strictly for fun and having to go thru a bunch of BS sure doesnt help in the fun department, oh sure i still would ship outside CONUS for some folks, joe chen comes to mind, but i am pretty much not even gonna consider shipping outside CONUS anymore unless its agreed when i drop the package off at the USPS my responsiblity is over and done with.

I get things USPS (very slow) and DHL expensive. Anything else does arrive in 4 - 6 months. My wife has a DHL account at work and her kit is sent account receive and arrives directly to her place of work.

If the package is insured and is lost or stolen, it is you that has to file the claim. Once you get the refund, you would then have to send it to the buyer, so your responsibility would not be over and done with. I'm not sure if you can transfer the refund to the recipient, but even if you can, there would still be stuff that you would have to do get the transfer done.

I have been selling knives on Bladeforums for 2 years, why would I screw someone over 180.00 dollars?

Keith relax, this matter is being pursued on my end.

You have been on this forum almost every day since this was originally posted and this is the first time you decided to take the time to make an appearance. I really don't care how long you have been selling on Bladeforums, you have done an exceptionally poor job of helping kristopher_robin. You may well be handling things from your end, but you should be communicating that to the other person in the deal.

What is that you are doing from your end?

By the way, I am very relaxed.

In all that selling that was done over the two years, I don't know if everything went well or not, but you don't really find out how good a person is to deal with until you see how they handle problems.

I started a different thread before kristopher_robin started this one about the same issue asking for people's advice on how to handle this situation.
It's not like I'm trying to hide anything here.
I'm not sure why you are taking such an interest in this situation, but I find it amazing that in two years of successfully doing business on bladeforums, dealing with more than fifty people (the majority of which I've done multiple deals with) people are so quick to jump in and attempt to bash someone they've never even dealt with.
The people that have done business with me in the past, will continue to do business with me. If you would like to continue this discussion, we can do it via email.

I was just pointing out the shipper still has responsibilities even if the buyer accepts that there will only be a refund if the insurance claim is approved.

There are enough problems that can happen that I totally understand when people state that they will only ship CONUS. It limits the market for the seller, but that is completely up to him/her. It certainly doesn't insult me to be told that the seller won't ship to Canada. It has nothing to do with the seller not trusting the buyer. It is all about the added risk of loss or theft when the knife has to go through so many extra hands.
