Bad experiences with BladeGoblin

I suppose these knives could still be in transit, and that Artem will eventually get them, but how long is he supposed to wait?
After two plus months, it is certainly time for BladeGoblin to inform Kris how and when he intends to settle this, but as I said above, I'm afraid that Bladegoblin's silence is his message for Kris. :thumbdn:

BladeGoblin is on the forum every day, but it appears that he doesn't have any updated news as to what he is doing about this situation. It would still be good for Artem to know what Anthony is doing from his end that might help in getting him the knives, or a refund, or whatever it is that Anthony is planning on doing. From the looks of it right now, nothing is what it appears Anthony is doing.

I said it before. Piss poor attitude. All the reason I'm glad I never dealt with this tool.

Let's see him reply now. I know he can't resist a jab.

It might be hard to cough up $180.00 when you think that you did nothing wrong, but sometimes the hard thing to do is also the right thing to do.

It looks like Anthony/BladeGoblin has decided to stop visiting bladeforums. He hasn't been logged on for four days now. Maybe he is away, or maybe he feels picked on, but one thing is obvious, he doesn't feel like giving a refund. I guess that $180.00 is more important than he would have had us believe. It was obviously worth screwing up his reputation over.

I'm sorry to hear that. I thought that Anthony just might be waiting for the 3 month point (i.e. quarter year since he took Artem's good faith money) to announce and act on his intentions just in case the shipment gets delivered.

At this point, this is looking like a "Hall of Shame" issue. It is really a shame. :barf:

No, he just does this kind of stuff. Back in March he told someone on Jerzee Devil that if the guy held on to a knife for him until Friday he would buy it. The seller took the knife of the market for two and a half weeks, but never heard anything else from BladeGoblin. After that happened BladeGoblin stopped posting on Jerzee Devil, and three weeks later stopped visiting the site completely.

This really is a shame because I thought both these guys were good guys and it sad to see it turn out badly. I know what lesson I have learned from this however, don't ship overseas unless the seller takes responsabilty for the risk and pays all the shipping fees. Also, don't assume anything.

I think BladeGoblin really did ship the knife and he just got unlucky and had it turn up missing in the mail. I think he now doesn't feel like paying twice for the knife and it is easy to understand how he feels. It is too bad however, sometimes you have to bite the bullet and make things right even if it sucks. That is what being a decent person is all about. It may cost you sometimes but it is worth it since you have to live with yourself.

Kevin, I`m agree 100% with you. But I would like to make small addition: be not afraid of international shipping, but do it through ЕМС only, this is guaranteed, reliable and fully trackable way. In other cases inform the buyer about shipping way and ask his consent BEFORE.

I would not be happy if I shipped a knife and it didn't get to the other person, and I had to give a refund, but that is what I would do. It is an expensive learning experience, but not one that shoulde be paid for by the buyer unless it was made very clear that it would be the buyer's responsibility to accept all risk. That didn't happen here and it is BladeGoblin's responsibility to make it right. He has chosen to not step up to the plate, and therefore has proven to me that the money is more important than his reputation. He didn't even contact Artem to see if something could be worked out. It is obvious that he doesn't care at all that Artem is out the cost of the knife. All he cares about is that it isn't him that foots the bill.

All Bladegoblins good rep is now gone because of one bad deal. It is too bad but now we know who and what Bladegoblin is. I won't do anymore deals with him after this. He would have done the same thing to me if a knife he sent didn't arrive.

A few months ago I sold a 275 dollar knife to a guy in texas. It was below my threshold for insisting on insurance. I set that bar at 300 dollars.

It did not arrive. So after just three weeks of waiting, I took the buyer at his word and refunded his money.

IT SUCKED, but it is the right thing to do and Internet sales between private parties depends on it.

Shame on Bladegoblin.

More so, with the quality of knives this guy has bought and sold, to ruin his rep over $180, is ridiculous. He has bought and sold knives easily worth 3x that much so I'm pretty sure if he worked some things around he could refund Artem without losing more than a couple weeks "play money". That sheds even a brighter light on his character. Can't even part with $180?
Maturity doesn't always come with age I guess. :jerkit:

ETA: It's been nice at JD w/out him.

I read up on this post often but stayed out of saying anything. At this point, I can't let it go without saying how disappointed I am in what's happened. What bugs me the most is that Bladegoblin would not try to work something out with the buyer in any way. I bought two knives from Anthony and all went well. We shared similar tastes in fixed blades and I liked corresponding with him. Now, all of that is tainted because when the shit hit the fan on this deal he's apparently shied away from any contact or resolution. I feel badly about the whole deal, for both Anthony and Kristopher.

perhaps he just doesnt have the $$ and is willing to accept the ramifications rather than fess up he has not got the $$??

anyway he isnt gonna settle up with the guy i dont think, this is another case were the person who is owed the $$ needs to start considering the next step cause this has run its course, the fat lady is now singing.

i can understand him, in a way, this is a bad situation, but it still isnt right FWIW.
