Balls_tothe_Walls (Heath Helton) is a scammer

The best confidence games are run by people who never ask for your money and who's victims rein in the next crop of victims.

While Heath Helton appears to be quite the little puppet master for now, one day he will go down.
Americans are so trusting, that it has made this country a paradise for con men from all over the world.
Growing up in a harsh inner city environment has made me fairly skeptical about strangers, but just like everyone else, I regularly take chances because we all have a need to trust in each other.
On the bright side, we have this educational GBU forum that keeps showing us all aspects of human nature, and how to stay one step ahead of the game.

I also received the PayPal email saying that his bank sided with him and the money’s gone..

BUT did anyone else receive a disputed amount for a portion of the total, not the full amount? How a portion of a single transaction can be fraudulent but not the rest is a genuine conundrum, paradox, whatever.. something no human sitting at work could possibly read without it raising a serious logical red flag.

Either way, I lost a few hundred dollar portion of a $675 transaction PLUS their $20 charge back fee.. yep I got charged for getting scammed :D

Well, don't get scammed again - simple!:p

All kidding aside, I'm still trying to figure how this whole thing went down. It's terribly hard for me to imagine that the bank would take money, and keep it. Wouldn't that be theft?

Do you guys think he engineered this scam, thinking he'd pull it off, then split? Like I said, I'm trying to make sense of this whole thing.

And, to those who got scammed, I feel for you! Now that his name's associated with this, I believe this will catch up to him, in spades. Anybody have any other identifying information? Like, DOB? I don't know if you can post that, but there are other H. Healton's...

Here's what I understand. That puke did a few sales/buys and got people to trust him. And yes, it was a scam. Then, he bought/traded a bunch in a short period. That piece of shit then claimed fraudulent/unauthorized charges when his credit card bill was due. So, with a simple phone call, anyone can dispute the charges if the credit card company isn't tracking normal charges on a card. So, anyone can get a new credit card, charge it to the max, claim it was stolen/hacked and get away with thievery.
Everything else this piece of donkey dung claimed is just smoke and mirrors.

Well, he's in the process of making it right to me; he's sent me the knife I was owed, and will be sending me the cash I lost from the paypal chargeback soon. He's received death threats directed at him and his family, which is apparently why he's cut contact and disabled some social media and gotten in contact with legal entities to resolve the issue properly and safely (which is likely part of the reason the return payment have been delayed). His move to Texas cannot have been the result of a plan to evade the law, else he would not have willingly given that address to people.

I think we should withhold judgement for now. Personally, I'm going to give him a chance to pay back those who received paypal chargebacks before judging him. We'd all do well to be cautious, of course, but as far as I can tell there are many people who have been repaid or had their knives returned. Those who haven't received compensation may want to be patient, I think there's a good chance his legal advisers told him not to do anything until for now.

Maybe he is a scammer, maybe not; I have no hard evidence, but in my eye's he's innocent until proven guilty, and there seems to be a significant amount of people on both sides, so there's no reason to go making assumptions. Just imagine how this would affect someone in the event that it's all just a horrible coincidence.

Now, that doesn't mean I recommend doing a trade with him now during this fiasco, but don't crap all over his reputation. Just give him time.

So after all the pages describing his deeds, you are still willing to believe, what he says.

As I said, incredible story.

No skin of my back - I dont believe I have an outstanding transaction with this individual.

Like I said, I'm not giving money, and I'm not trading with him, at least not till everything is cleared up. And again, things don't add up if he was a scammer, why would he bother sending back money, and also reveal his address. On top of that, he's sending me a custom knife, for no other reason than that we've built a good business relationship. If he was a scammer, wouldn't he be keeping the thousands of dollars that he's been sending out? Wouldn't he keep these high value knives? Wouldn't he avoid releasing personal info?

Whatever, if people don't want to give him a chance, I can't do anything about it. I'm just sharing the communications I've had with Heath and the logical conclusions therefrom. I'm still going to be cautious, but I choose to believe that the guy who's been sending me quality knives for the better part of a year is a good guy. Besides, I've seen way scummier people selling overpriced knives with undisclosed issues on here who have tons of rep and years of 'good' feedback.

I'm sure if you can facilitate providing the moderator of this thread ( bhyde bhyde ) with any information that he could use to validate what you have stated, it would help to clear his name. Maybe start with the "legal entities" he working with to resolve his problems?

I don't even know if Heath wants back into bladeforums. Seems he's given up on rebuilding his reputation here, and is going to just pay what he owes then never have anything to do with it again. But if he does give me information to forward to the moderators, I'll happily do so.

Anyone that continues to defend this turd, trade with him or send him money after reading this hasn't been paying attention.
He lied to Paypal about fraudulent charges. He lied to his bank about fraudulent charges. What makes anyone believe he isn't going to, get this...it's a surprise...LIE AGAIN? He isn't going to fix anything he doesn't have to..sure, he will do the bare minimum to help a few believe he is working on making everyone whole..
Here is another surprise..he is setting you up for another epic take.

Do me a favor before you post in this thread about how he is trying to make this right. Total up all the people that are still out money and time dealing with this steaming pile of crap..divide it by the people that have been made whole and then tell me the answer to this seemingly difficult math equation.
If the end result is a fraction of anything less than 1/1, it's a FAILURE
. His word means less than the fractional answer you will come up with.

Lance Leon Lance Leon , maybe you need to read the above post from bhyde as to why a scammer may try to make it look like he is building trust with a few, while scamming others for thousands of dollars. Specifically, the bolded parts to make it easier to understand.

At the minimum it would confirm for those waiting for restitution that it isn't all lies. That would be helpful to him and them. No?

You said he was receiving death threats against him and his family. Isn't that why he would want to clear is name? Why do you assume he would be concerned about getting back on to BF?

To me things don't add up to him not being a scammer. So far the only people I have seen come forward that they are being taken care of or even contacted are those that had a history of trading with him. It would be great if he made all whole again, but if that is his goal he is going about it all wrong. Communication of what is going on (he doing , bank doing, anyone else doing) is key up until people are paid. I don't have a horse in the race, but if I were one that did I would continue to seek restitution on all levels available until I achieved that goal.
The forum was willing to give him a chance to make this right and he didn't come through.

If he does in fact send you a custom knife as you claim, I'm sure it was stolen from somebody else. Don't be so naive.

it was not stolen, this was a knife being offered by him many months ago before anything happened. And as someone else said earlier, there's an internet trail. I'd ask you to refrain from calling me naive before you know the full story.

Please do provide me proof he is working on it. IIRC, he relocated to Texas shortly after making these deals in quick succession.
Occam's razor would suggest that it was intentional..I am not convinced this isn't some sort of ponzi scheme to boot.

"Legal team" is fairly laughable in this case considering how this has all turned out in this particular thread. If anyone should have a "legal team", it's those that have been thus far defrauded of their property or money.

Indeed, I can see how this is definitely very fishy. I will definitely be sure to keep you up to date on any pertinent information, should Heath provide it to me.
