Thanks for the honest response Aaron and I can’t tell you how glad I am you didn’t get hosed. You sound like a stand up guy and didn’t deserve that.
I was curious if Heath was pressuring you to use F&F......he pulled that shit here quite a bit.

To be honest I don't know what to do, I def don't want to have this heath bloke's claimed issue and have all my paypal transactions get reversed, otherwise I'd end up on many a s#!t list, having bought and sold quite a few bits of gear/knives.

I don't want to own a knife that is stolen property either, I'm happy to chat with the original owner, who I think said had some hope of this being resolved, I'd rather take the hit and pay him than have to deal with disputes etc. This whole thing is either going to make us a stronger global community or make things harder for us all to trust, I prefer the former.

No worries mate, me too, though I had resolved myself to the fact I'd been duped.

Hope to be on here a bit, might see any of you that go to the Gathering in Vegas in Aug/Sept, I love coming to the states :)

Although this would be nice in theory, it would likely not be a good idea in this case. He paid via FF gift, so PP is not going to do much; and it is possible Aaron may get into some trouble due to using FF improperly. Don't want to get into all the FF discussion - but that is not being honest in and of itself with PP. Even if PP were willing to help, I'll assume they would make him send it back to Helton for a refund?
Definitely would not want to do that. It is a bit odd that Aaron was the one who really could have got the shaft because of the use of FF (at least he got something, even if it was stolen prior); but the others that did it right got taken.
 
Aaron-I would start with talking to the previous owner and see how he feels about your position in this. Maybe that can resolve things between the 2 of you on how to proceed.

Just woke up, I will mate, I messaged Heath yesterday, and asked if he'd sorted the owner out because he had the money I paid him, he said he had a big list he was going through and would bump up this bloke...time will tell...

I have no skin in this game, but I just read this entire thread out of fascination and because I sometimes participate in Reddit raffles (where Heath is very active all the time). Thought the Reddit posts below would be of interest here. For the record, if anyone cares about an opinion from someone who just spent too much time reading all this, it seems like he may or may not be making things right. But he's definitely an asshole.

It's all still just smoke and mirrors. How in the name of everything that's sane, can anyone believe that the big bad bank is holding out money for no reason.
I guess banks and credit card company's stopped sending out monthly statements around the time all this took place. Go figure.
 
Semi off topic, but does the raffle money usually exceed fair value of the knife. Such as knife is worth $400 and raffle tickets sold is $600
Just trying to determine what advantage using this method offers Balls vs direct sale or returning the knife(if it is one that still hasn't been paid for).

Hi Jake, I wrote again to him this morning and said he could he pay you with what I paid him and provide proof, screenshot etc. No response yet...I don't want to get into any games with him mate, it's hard enough in this hobby being in Australia and getting people to buy/sell/trade to me here, I've already had a dodgy Rassenti Snafu and MSC PT sent to me in the last month, I'm just about ready to strictly deal with guys I've personally met at the USN Gathering and that's it...I feel like us aussies must be too trusting, we don't shit on each other down here.
