Bargain $10 26.5cm Australian Folder?

huj900 don't feel bad, almost everyone buys a crap knife when they get into knives, but also realize that if you are going to show knives like this to a bunch of knife aficionados they are going to bust your balls.

I would carefully use some of these current knives, find what features you like, then look for those features in models from reputable companies. If you are really interested in well made knives you need to let this go and observe some of the manufacturers boards awhile, and then buy a decent $30-$50knife that will be worth carrying. I'm not trying to pile on, just giving advice.

I would also treat all the knives you have shown (except the Kershaw) as if they do not have locks, just in case ;)

I'm only messin' with you, huj. Look, we all made mistakes.

When I got into collecting customs, everyone here at Bladeforums' Custom Forum kept bragging to me about this one "very popular" maker's knives. So, I ordered a set of hunters from him, sight unseen, and here's what $2,000 got me.......

 Those knives literally look like crap. Some kind of fecal matter from a wild animal or a college student. Money well spent my friend.

Glad you like 'em. Care to make an offer?:D

huj, my advice to you is to stay away from lower end knives, and pay a bit more for higher knives made by good companies like spyderco, benchmade, kershaw, CRKT, SOG, etc.....

many of these companies have budget models that are pretty low price like spyderco byrd line and spyderco tenacious, benchmade red boxes, kershaw has the american made skyline, the opinels are really good, these knives are good cheap knives.

those 10 dollar knives and such, some of them may be made decent and can become good knives for harsh use when you dont want to use a better knife you own.

thanks guys - i'll try and keep to more well know, less chinese products from now. the $2000 knives u showed look like fossil horse hooves if u use your imagination lol. just a quick word on the comment about throwing away the bud k catalogue - i braught a stiletto that they sell on their website for $8.99 that is legal to own in australia. it opens really fast with the thumbstud, and has the quillion that catches on your pocket to open. it is really fun to open. it has pretty fake abalone scales. The blade is probably nowhere near the quality of those u guys buy - but i can get it 2 shave. the pocket clip is rediculous though. but yeh defently worth thinking about for the price as a user u don't mind getting dirty in my opinion.

the boker kalisnov interests me as i think i watched a conversion video on it. auto's are illegal here in australia though (i spose that answers the Q am i in australia). appreciate the other pic posts 2, i'll look into them once i save more money.

Huj, don't ever be ashamed of the knives you buy. Everyone may not like them, but so what.

Sometimes an inexpensive knife is more fun to carry than anything else because you can beat it up hard and not care about its replacement cost.

I have a lot of knives, some very expensive, and the one I carry the most is a $26 camo SAK.

thanks mate.

And I owe you an apology for giving you such a hard time. I could have been more diplomatic in my initial posts.

One thing I'm not sure has been mentioned as I've tried to step around the stuff here, but be careful with the less expensive Chinese made stuff. If the lock fails at the wrong time, you'll have to get someone else to open your beers for you from then on.
