Bark River has taken $16,000 of My Money

I will also suggest that Stewart has a habit or getting "unsecured" loans from "unwitting" business partners through the years that rarely get paid back. Its easier to make payroll that way after all.

oldways, look at Bladeandbarrel's Location: under a bridge, and you can see that all he's doing is trolling.

We had facts to work with in this thread, one case, with Mr. Youell participating in a civil discussion. Now that's over, and the scavengers move in ...

I don't think he is trolling, Esav, and I know Anthony.....he is just contributing in his own way.

Just do the Lexis search. It costs money.

Esav,
I used to work for Mike Stewart at one time.

There is a fact for you.

I'm not impressed. Stroll on in, toss off a couple of innuendos, tell us to look it up ... Playing games, at least, if not trolling. Why should I believe anything you say is a fact?

Sounds like simple breach of contract. Hire a lawyer if Steward doesn't return your money.

Those are not material to the deal. It was up to the parties to consider these things before inking the deal, and to make specific stipulations to address concerns. If Mike changed his mind after, fine. All he has to do is immediately restore both parties to their state before the contract. That means returning the $16K, I don't think there's any additional damages to be pursued from the failure to deliver from what has been stated so far.

Again, I don't question Stewart's character, but he is making a mistake in his statements and actions. He does not get to say when and where for the refund, a judge can do that just fine. I say take it to the proper channels for a definite and enforceable resolution and to avoid additional drama.

You are so correct, contract law 101......................

"Delivery will be 90 days from the time of payment"

That's a fairly straight forward and simple statement.

Contract breach was at day 91.

awesome, thanks.

Now I'm wondering why anyone supports Mike Stewart. There's a lot of big names who got screwed by him. I didn't know, but I also never had any Blackjack, Marbles, or Bark River knives, so haven't read much about it.

There's so many sleazeballs in the knife industry, pick your poison.

Read slowly.....

SO WHAT?

Mike...it is about the money.....THAT is the reality.....

Mike Stewart owes the OP $16,000.....give the guy back his money, and let him go about his business, AND SCREW the rest of it...it is irrelevant.

Best Regards,

Yup, I agree with this quote even more than the previous!!!
It is always about the money when dealing in the large scale sale of goods. The 16K should have been paid back the second one party reneged on his contractual obligation, and any delay is wrong, wrong, wrong.

Boy, that last one takes me back.... There were other threads after that one was closed. The anonymous person defending Mike Stewart in that thread later revealed himself to be his son Jason. The trial ... well, juries make inexplicable decisions sometimes....

That's all old news and most of the people involved have written it all off and don't feel it has to be rehashed every time Mike Stewart's name is mentioned, but when some newbie says Mike Stewart is a man of unquestionable integrity or something like that, then, then there are a lot of people in the knife industry who feel moved to respond to that claim.

I am shocked!! Why on earth would you wait until December 31st to get your money back? You must be loaded, because if someone had 16,000 of my dollars.....they would have virtually all of my savings. I think at that point, I would seriously consider flying to wherever he was and paying a personal visit. I don't care what the circumstances were, he needs to pay the OP immediately. I can't imagine if you took some legal recourse, you wouldn't be able to get all your money back and your court costs covered. I know its a pain, but I am sure there are alot of things you could be doing/ could have done with the $$.

Mike Stewart is well-practiced at avoiding accountability. He knows the legal system all to well because he has been sued many, many times. What is impressive though, is how one of the lowest characters in the knife biz can con the small-minded into thinking that he walks on water. :jerkit:

I hear that, man.
