Please remember that in all this, only one side of the story has been heard. You won't hear Mike's side unless and until this arrives in court. An actual court, not the "court" of public opinion. And there are two sides.

Steve got Mike to give him a date when he would be paid, which at least at one point Steve said was what he wanted - now let it go.

mike stewart wqill never ever, get his hands on a penny of my money, in my opinion the way a company conducts bussiness is almost as important as how their products are, it appears that BRKT conduct bussiness very poorly

Steve has what he wanted

The way I read the lengthy trail on the other forum and the way I read this one is Steve wanted the knives he paid for, then when the deal didn't go through he wanted his money back. He hasn't gotten either, so I'm not sure what you mean by "Steve has what he wanted." Although, I suppose you could argue that the to-be-paid-by-31 Dec deal serves as the public commitment he was pushing for when he wasn't getting satisfaction on his refund requests.

One side is holding the other side's money with a broken contract....what else is there to discuss?

Pack that "now let it go" where the sun don't shine, Grampa....this is a prime USDA example of a travesty in the knifeworld, and it should be kept at the top for all to see....there are far TOO many Forumites unaware of the historical and apparently current multiple disservices that Stewart foists upon the community...if you choose to bury your head in the sand, run along, and do so.

Otherwise....:eek::foot::eek:

Grampa, didn't Mike sign a contract and take 16K for a product then decide to not send the product after an agreed upon date? If this is 100% true, Mike doesn't have a side, he's wrong, plain and simple. Anything that happened after should have resulted in an immediate and complete refund.

I believe Steve because not once did I read where Mike denies these accusations. All Mike did was basically say, "I don't trust you to sell my product and you will get your money when I am ready to get it to you.". If there is more to it than that, then Mike should make his side of the story known, because the little he did make public, is making him look real bad to those who show no favoritism.

i never understand people that make excuses for PIECES OF SHIT like MIKE STEWART. oh well maybe they got a free knife once.

I'm not taking sides on the matter, but apparently Mike was dissatisfied with Steve's marketing plan for these knives, and since those knives will have Mike's name on it, he didn't want the public to get a negative view of his company. Still Mike did sign the contract, and didn't deliver, he should have thought about the whole marketing deal first.

We'll see what happens.

Spark,

I am holding you personally accountable for this thread, and the monetary damage it will cause me when my entire collection of knives is devalued!

Sincerely,

I posted my .02 on Mikes forum and I was deleted in a matter of seconds. What a DICK. I will never own another knife made by him.

I get it now; there is a legal contract but Mike Stewart wants to make a profit on SS's 16K. Since there will be profit money on this 16K worth of a contract, I bet a nice profit awaits Mike Stewart. Why would Stewart do the right thing when he has proven in this case to be a snake and it is pretty clear he is using another's money to better himself because he could never raise 2 bucks by himself!!
Mike Stewart isn't doing the right thing, he's not doing the legal thing, he is doing the "scam the investor thing"!

And I would bet a steak dinner that money will still be owed SS in December of 2009 and 2010!!!

well I am even madder!!!:grumpy::grumpy: All those gorgeous knive ken Onion had stolen are not worth much in the secondary market cause everyone knows they are stolen. Stuff like this devalues my collection of stolen knives considerably, especially them onions!!:eek::eek:;)

What's a thief to do?? (I don't know, ask Mike Stewart!!):rolleyes::p:p

For the record I have no stolen stuff, period

Sounds like everyone has their minds made up on this particular issue. I guess pretty much everyone posting here was involved in the contract and private discussions about deadlines. I wasn't so I will have to wait to see if Mike Stewart lives up to the final agreement he and Steve made.

or maybe we have enough reading comprehension to understand what Mike Stewart posted on his own forum for the whole internet to see.
