I can't send PMs! Hey craytab can you send me an email with the info? I'm on board and thanks for stepping up to the plate.

Shipping moolah has been sent. Mr. Winkler, we appreciate your time, sir! And Cray, yeah I guess you're alright for getting it squared away. LOL Thanks, brother.

We should have more threads like this. I could cancel my cable service.

Custom makers pit their wares against the corporate machine while Doris provides comic relief. I see a YouTube channel forming already.

I don't know Boris from Adam. But I know liberal tactics when I see them. And some of you "men" are as liberal as Barack Hussein Obama.
It's shameful to see men act the way you do. I bet most of you wear earrings and other women's jewelry too. Liberal sissy men.

Nothing like insulting established members, girls, and getting political in your first 5 post. Great contribution

I look forward to your future work! Have you heard of a place called whine and cheese?

I am very impressed with Mr. Winkler. Props to him for engaging in reasonable, informative discussion even in the face of trolling. I doubt I can afford one, but I'm at least going to look at some Winklers if I need a good outdoors blade out of respect for their maker. Hilarious thread all around, though.

Antdog, insipid, emails replied with paypal. Quiet, money received. This is happening!

I registered here several days ago before I saw this thread. Wanted to get that out of the way before someone accuses me of just registering for this thread.
I really wanted to post, on other subjects, and be a part of this forum. But after seeing the outright rude and child like behavior by supposedly grown men I will not be posting again anytime soon.
The ganging up of "men" on Boris is pathetic. None of you have posted anything of importance to the discussion at hand and have not refuted one thing Boris has said. And I am not even saying that he is right or wrong. I don't know. I do know that many of you are posting and threatening but have no clue what you are talking about.
And Mr. Winkler, I wouldn't pay you $100 for that knife. I don't care how proud you are of it. But if you can sell them then more power to you. I would never begrudge someone getting paid what the market allows.
Have fun in the kiddie pool children.

While it may seem at first glance to be ganging up, it isn't quite that clear cut.

Firstly I don't begrudge Boris either his claims or his love of the Schrade in question. I'dve chosen a different model of Schrade, but I bet I'd be happy with that model. I'm not getting one for myself simply because I already have an Ontario SP42 that doesn't see enough use as it is.

As I said in another post, it's that we'd really need Boris to test the camp knife in order to fully validate his claims. To be fair, we'd need someone to test the Schrade too, hence why we are sending one to Mr. Winkler.

The Schrade knife appears to work well for whatever needs Boris has. He is certainly fond of it. It's a knife. If it cuts and/or does whatever he needs it to do, I'd say that makes it a pretty good knife for him to own.

It's not a matter of dissing Boris, or Schrade, just in wanting a full honest comparison that backs up the claims being made (which, again, goes for both sides, hence the forthcoming test.)

I have not read a lot of other threads with Boris' input, but some posters have said that he doesn't believe most people on here use their knives, to put it mildly. If this is so, it could be part of the reason folks are a bit put out. Having not seen those posts yet I'll reserve judgment.

I wonder if anyone else is aware that when Mr. Winkler gets a knife to test against his wares, that too keep everyone honest he would have to send his knife to a third party for testing. Otherwise it's a Burgerking testing the Big Mac against their whopper and we all know what will be the winner, when we know what will win when McDonald's does the same test. Ask a Chevy engineer what is better about a mustang compared to a camaro. I think you get what I'm saying, that's why I am quoting you. No matter ones integrity they will always be biased to their own products. In reality a third party needs to conduct the test because like I said, I could snap the blade on the camp knife in 5 minutes and instantly declare the 37 winner that has lasted two months of abuse and the camp knife didn't make it 5 minutes.

Take it as you may, but if Mr winkler is actually interested in a head to head of two knives that are actually apples to oranges, he will need to send them to someone else to keep it fair. Otherwise it's the same circle we see here.

Who's going to be the impartial tester, or will there be an impartial judge there ?

All fair points, but you did ask someone to send you the camp knife (although you also made the offer to come to the ranch, so perhaps you were joking about testing the camp knife yourself). If you got the camp knife would you have someone else test it?

With how much you seem to use your knives I would prefer you be the tester, but then we come back to the problem of inherent bias.

It really would be a shame to close this thread. But with the constant off-topic, personal remarks, it could be hours of work to hand out infractions. That's why moderators give up on the childishness -- and get complaints for not doing anything.
