How does that humble pie taste Rhonda?

Jeremy

Like an elbow to the face?

Nice deer Gunyon!
Im really looking forward to rifle season. you guys think a 303. British will do the trick :D

I imagine so.
In cover, I just grab my .30-30. I may break out the .308 in a couple of weeks though.
Our leased land has a new cut-over that offers some longer shots along a woods/pasture border.

You're probably joking but yes, it certainly will. Sporterized Lee-Enfields were so popular as hunting rifles that there are still several brands of .303 hunting ammo on the market today.

Let me just add... as much trouble as it is to clean a muzzleloader, it's almost not worth shooting a deer. :p

when it's as much trouble as cleaning the deer, it's time to switch rifles.
My T/C Hawken .54 with 777 cleans up pretty well. It's all the oiling required after the soap that's a pain!

Good new is Bore Butter is a decent preservative AND it smells good in your hair.

Good work, Biscuit. I put myself in the same position last year, passing up shots waiting for something bigger. But the time to shoot is when you can, because you may not get another chance.

Our firearm season starts next weekend.

This guy has been a regular passer by of my camera, we'll see if he shows up when I am there.:D

Mmmmm.. Boar Butter..

Been playing around with a design for a knife I would like to eventually get made. It's about 4.5" tip to scales and 9" overall. I might drop the blade length maybe a 1/4". But I think I like it.

I suppose it might be somewhat similar. More of a drop point than a spear point and more of a sweeping belly.

AC: To me, it looks like...whatever you want it to look like. Design influences, whatever. Looks like you drew it yourself, and did a damn fine job of it. Hope you see it through to fruition.

I definitely took some inspiration from the 16 as well as from some of the customs I own. I actually traced a custom that I have to use as a template and made changes to the things I didn't like about it. The blade and handle both ended up longer, handle contours are much different, and a bit of blade shape change. I think the paper was bent a bit when I took the pic, so the blade doesn't look quite how I have it drawn.

Thanks. I believe I will be following through with it once I figure out who I want to make it. When I look at it I see Becker, Hargis, TM Hunt, and Fiddleback in it lol.

Lots of woods around... But that's work...

My dilemma... I need someone to deliver a bunch of firewood... Already split... Build me a firewood rack... And stack it all up for me...

Free. Now you see the dilemma lol

the wife :D

Looks pretty cool AC. I'd say while you're waiting for that to get made, go get an American Knife Company Forest knife.

I buttered my bore at about 11:30 this morning.

Yo AC, I think you're blueprint looks the don mega. EVERY knife that has been made has had an influence from another somewhere along the line. Even Uncle E said that his tweener handles have been influenced by HUNDREDS of different knives he's held/owned. Make it bro. I for one would love to see your plan come to fruition.. in 3V perhaps or maybe O1? Maybe even some MIKEcarta (I'm looking at you GSOM) Skies the limit brother..
