Springy, its like you read my mind. All knives are going to be similar to many others with the thousands of designs that are out there.

I'm not sure on steel, but those 2 are on my list along with good old 1095 , 52100, and some stainless steels too.

Eta: probably going to end up with g10 scales. This knife will end up covered in blood and guts, so I don't want it to soak in and end up stinking if I'm in the field and can't clean it well right away.

I heard that Hoss bore buttered his ram rod at 11:30 yesterday morning. Coincidence? Nahhhhh.....no such thing.

I tried your "Bippity-boppity-boo!" And nothing.......

But then i got a call later in the day from a buddy that lives up the road.... Asked me if i wanted to go to his firing range...... I agreed... He came picked me up..... Then on the way he points to all this wood he has been cutting up.... Clearing some of his land.....And ASKS me if i need any firewood.... Says WE can load it on HIS truck and i can have all i want....

Mate I've drawn up a few designs myself and it is veritably impossible to come up with a design that is 1) functional whilst 2) remaining completely different looking to ANY other knife around. If it helps, the Survive! GSO series are high sabre so if you were to flat grind that bad boy it would not be like the GSO knives and due to the handle difference it differs from the 16 as well. Irrespective, I like your design and if you do too, then I say let the sparks fly! Oh yeah, the G10 idea is a goer as well. That said though, I've already volunteered GSOMike to make you some Mikecarta. He's super keen. He told me so..
 
It will definitely be ffg or possibly even a bit of a convex grind. Thanks for volunteering GSOM to make some Mikecarta. Does he know about it yet?

Got the Esee Gibson in. Sweet blade, great ergos. Really like the shape and it came nice and sharp.. Don't care for the sheath. But I'm not much a fan of leather personally...

I wonder if anyone makes kydex for it already... Without sending it off...
 
WW killed the snark by talking about an ESEE knife. Guess it's up to me to resurrect it.

Lets say you have an old truck and the carpet is bad enough that your wife refuses to get in it until you replace the carpet. Question: what do you spend the money on instead of replacing the carpet?

You can find molded vinyl to put in instead of carpet or tear out the carpet and rock the bare paint underneath with a set of floor mats.

I am single. The hypothetical scenario above was inspired by an actual post on chevyk5blazer.com and my response to it. He said his wife refused to ride in his blazer until he got carpet in it and I said I didn't see the problem.

Rubber/vinyl floor might work but let's say that said wife is spoiled to the point she won't tolerate bare metal floors, even with floor mats.


For the record, no female has ever refused to ride in my Blazer for lack of floor covering.
 
Well it's the only Esee knife that I have ever thought had decent ergos.... Oh yea, and the candiru... So I thought it was justification'al :D


But, the sheath will make me not carry it....
 
The sheath can make all the difference in whether or not a blade gets used. They're part of a system.
