Been trying to shoot my bow regularly. At 30 yds., my amblyopia makes it harder (learned as a kid to shoot righty, even though I'm VERY left eye dominant....)

At 20 yds., I can see a little better....

Don't think I'm going to hunt this year....I didn't grow up in that tradition (fishing, yes - hunting, no) but really thinking about it for next year if I can get an experienced friend of mine to go with me. There are LOTS of deer around here....just need to get out and give it a go. Hopefully my family will like venison....

Somehow missed this photo. That's a sexy blade Todd:

Sorry no reply guys, just now catching up on snark........ That's the trailmate. (Working title anyway) have a whole stack of them in the shop in CPM154 stainless. They've been sitting here for about a year. Still in the works, just hadn't had the time. Been overwhelmed with everything else. Hoping to have several at Blade this year.

Daaaaaamn Aiki! That sheath is the Don Mega for a first attempt! Maybe I should send YOU flowers..

AC, good man for standing up your wellbeing and safety mate. Your family should not have to worry and fret for you each time you go to work because your boss is a lazy sod. All the best with that other offer. I hope it still stands as well..

Bigghoss, hope your transition goes smoothly buddy. Sounds like a massive undertaking to go from CO to WA. All the best mate..

Gshark, I hope you're also doing ok brother. My wife and I have friends in Brugge. We're worried about them. Stay safe dude..

Meh, I've already done it once. It wouldn't be much of an issue if the property management company hadn't twisted my arm to get me to sign a new lease. I was going month-to-month for a while but then out of nowhere I get a notice saying that instead of paying an extra $20 a month I'd have to pay an extra $100 a month if I didn't want to sign a lease and they would only let me go month-to-month for a period of one year. Don't know why they'd want to screw with people that aren't obligated to stay.

Ummm....because they want your money? Plus, it works better for them? No.....can't figure out why they'd want to screw with people.

I get that it's better for them that people would be locked into a lease as opposed to not, but they're practically driving people out who's leases have run out. Particularly the bit about not allowing people to go more than a year without a lease. Doesn't make sense to push someone out who's paying rent on time and not causing issues. I almost moved out because of it, went looking at other places and searched for people looking for room mates.

Thanks. Been working for him for 8.5 years. It started out with him being great to work for . Now the last few years its been a fight to get anything fixed and I see him caring less and less about everything. Last night was just the icing on the cake that makes me think its time to go. I'm not going to do something that's puts me or the other people on the road in danger. He didn't see it my way and decided to come to the post office and make a scene and threaten me with being fired. I probably should have just walked out then and been done. Gotta pay the bills though and will make sure I have a job before I quit.

Damn it Derek, now I have to clean the water off of my computer.......

I'll give that guy credit tho, he's got a potentially naked woman behind him (even if it looks like his sister)

that's actually derek back there

Dang, Derek leaves the snark for a few moons and then charges back in hard.

are we going to have to remind him of the new rules since he was gone? family friendly.

kinda hard to think about hunting with time constraints.

that said, keep practicing :D

if 65 yo guys can put 6 in 3 inches at 60+ yds, you can too

THIS is the only reason to keep working there until you find a better job. Good luck on finding something that let's you stay local. Good truckers can always find work. It just might not be where they want to live. I'm sure you prefer ND to TX, but there's a trucking company a mile down the road from me. The owner was real happy to find out I had a commercial license cause she needs drivers and was ready to hire me on the spot until she found out I only had a "Class B" (for fire trucks) and not a full blown "Class C" (full commercial).

Them temps are dropping!! 38° when i walked outside this morning. Down in the sticks.

Had a great time at the river property this weekend. I personally didnt catch a single fish though. Brother in law and father caught a couple mud fish, couple catfish, and a couple turtles LOL

But we had fun. Some good beer and whiskey. A few good smokes. Fire. Nature.... Perfect!

Came back yesterday and last night i started playing around with the trail hawk head.... Attached a 56" slightly curved handle to it.. It "was" a walking stick a buddy made for me. Wood burned with Molan Labe and some designs i thought looked cool.... SO i made the Grim Reaper Hatchet LOL

Uh oh. ^ I think they might have assimilated Guyon too.

Wait, does that mean, between all the mods 'round here, Bladite is the mostest normalist one?!?

They wouldn't take him.

Have the three of them traveled to the Black Sea area of Turkey recently and tried the "deli bal"?

"The dark, reddish, “mad honey,” known as deli bal in Turkey, contains an ingredient from rhododendron nectar called grayanotoxin — a natural neurotoxin that, even in small quantities, brings on light-headedness and sometimes, hallucinations. In the 1700s, the Black Sea region traded this potent produce with Europe, where the honey was infused with drinks to give boozers a greater high than alcohol could deliver."

The article is quite interesting, including a discussion of the honey being used to defeat the Roman army.
