I have not yet made a kydex and foam frame for this one (I will) but did insert a layer of high density foam (that I cut crooked when making the other frame) into this one and it made a noticible difference..!!

Sweet mother of God....anyone see the listed prices on these packs on e-bay.... the multicam MOLLE versions for $499/$599 BUY IT NOW... not sure I can control myself.... LOL An older green versions used for $399..... it IS a great pack...but not gold plated.... ;) I know asking and selling price are VERY different but it is worth a great big giggle.... :D :D

I got mine on another forum (jungle training) for 150. Totally worth it!!! I still need to figure out something for a frame, I was thinking of molding something to my back.

Not to Highjack your thread OP, (just figured I should post this in the correct thread instead of making a new one, Seems a lot of people starting repeat threads don't know how to use the search function)

Greatest pack I own. This one has the hard to find framesheet. Not sure on the history, but this one has the drawstrings.

I wont go back to Molle after using this. Lol. @ internal packs. Movement, equipment use, and functionality are extremely simple with the BPP.

The old school ALICE packs are excellent. I always use the frame. These packs are often just $25 each. I own many of them and all Large. The Medium ones are too small. You can equip the whole family cheap with these and they last a lifetime. I have broken a strap and a frame in a 30-years infantry career. Your average home person will not use them as often. Both the frame and strap could be repaired.

The All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment — or ALICE — system, Medium or Large size, (US Army 1967-2001)

Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment - or MOLLE, numerous camo colors like DCU, Woodland, ACU, etc., (1997-present). I have 6 of these in DCU, Woodland, ACU colors. Never paid more than $35 new on the auction site.

The only expensive pack I own is two SPEC-OPS Assault packs in tan that are $200 each made in Texas. I use one every day to work and back.:D Generally quality is more $$$. In packs these are exceptions to that rule.

These are the becker knifes of the pack World. No $300-$500 customs needed.:)

hey Panz...i picked up this pack off evil bay
it made by eagle ind and looks very much like the Becker RTO pack except the side pouches are removable and it has three pouches in the lid instead of the usual two.
beneath the removable side pockets are SMG or long flare pouches three on each side...these are permanent...woods

Looks like a modified pack. Maybe done by a stitch bitch on base. No idea other then that. Cool find!

For me one of the problems with conceiving a patrol pack or field bag is that I have no idea what someone is supposed to carry in one. I can come up with a configuration of just what I think is worthy carrying. But that doesn't mean any of it would be necessary.

Beans, bullets and band-aids. Of course that's figuratively speaking and more military oriented, but it's what this particular pack was intended for. Once confined to the civilian role it's up to you. I use mine as an everyday type bag. Carry in it whatever you want.
