Beckerhead Knife Making and Modification Thread

Nothing too crazy but here's what I've been working on. Its an s110v mule that I made handles for. The liners are red DVD case. The bolster is black and red micarta and the wood is walnut. I made the mosaic pin with 3/8 inch brass tubing and 3/32 copper tubing. It still needs some more sanding but its getting there lol.

This 4 had very fine and even machining marks . Didn’t try to fuss with em much . This was one of the nicest out of the box Becker’s I’ve ever purchased :) and yes it’s one of my favorites :D

Looks great. Did you make the scales?

Thanks GeofS, no I bought them from LMF Knives. Very nice guy he would add or subtract to your size likening and offered colors at the time that were a little different :)

Some preview pics - hopefully some good daylight tomorrow.
This was a very challenging build despite it having ONLY TWO PARTS. Had to build a spring full first! And it has all sorts of minor gotchas, as a major first usually does... However: 1st forged integral, out of Nautilus Rudder Bearing steel with G.L. Hansen&Sons "Ocean Depths" Gcarta, of course:

Those scales/liners look Sexy!!!

Hawk, whatEVER that started as, you improved it! That slant grind and that handle are dead-sexy.

My latest knife completed today. 100mm x 24mm blade, cocobolo handle with black fiber spacer and brass bolster with peened finish. I reground the Brisa flat ground Nordic blade, added a swedge, changed the ricasso and finished with an 800x polish and gray Scotch Brite finish.

That’s beautiful!

That turned out GREAT

Thank you Warrior, Daizee, GeofS, Xr6x and 1066vik for viewing and commenting. The blade was modified, but I did not slant the plunge line. This blade has taken a very sharp edge. I have been pulling out my Puronvarsi and Brisa blades. They are good inexpensive blades to regrind and turn into really interesting knives. I am still working on my own blade designs and grinding them.

My modded 10 gave it another bit of a nose job, deepened etch, striped with coating left under scales, waddle removed, sanded grind lines, edge of spine removed, has stock KA-BAR micarta with wood stain on em, and with black oxide stainless hardware lightly wire wheeled and with excess threads removed :)

Yes, there is a slight low grind mark on the Becker side it’s staying :p:p now done and ready for a natural patina
Post for others to help give ideas in case someone wants to mess around
