I love it. A friend gave it to me. He thought the Jerry can flask would be appropriate.

MMMMMM BACON!!!

Shot the xd45 that I borrowed tonight. I'm not sure how much I like it. It felt good in my hands before I took it out, but once I started shooting it I wasn't sure. I shot it like crap for sure. With more time I would probably get better with it. I'm sure its just the mag that the guy sent with it, but a couple times the slide didn't lock back after the last round and it was really hard to get the last few rounds in the mag, even with a mag loader. I think I'll keep it on the maybe list, but I'm going to try find a few different 45's to try out.

Here's mine:

P220! I wonder if that used one is still available down the block... basic black, $550 or so on the tag.

Look! Huge praying mantis on the bush! He looked at me the first time. Then I came back with the camera and he paid me no mind. He's probably 5" long. Yay! Did you know they look like the Gunstar when they fly at your head? Startling fact to discover first hand...

Daizee. Gotta say man, if I wasn't a knifemaker myself, id be buyin your stuff. Very nice, great purpose drivin design, very nice craftsmanship. Well done. Love the green on the knives you posted!

Thanks, Todd, I appreciate that a lot.
It took weeks to resolve the green issue... I ordered two emerald green materials, and one was discontinued. The other was the dymondwood, and I just couldn't see a whole green-handled knife in that stuff. Google 'green handle knife' and there's little that's attractive at all. Then I ordered G10 sheets, and those colors were all hideous too, tho useful for other blades perhaps. Finally I said F-it and threw a strip of the dymondwood on the bandsaw and split it the thin way. it threw two useable strips and each knife got one as liners. The actual DOING was nothing worth reporting, but the sourcing and selecting took weeks!

That Hiker is really sweet in the hand, I'm gonna have to finally re-handle my own. It was the first prototype, and of course I buggered something. I like to show people my stuff in person, but all I have left are the experiments!

I just spent most of the day in Todd's shop, and being sworn to secrecy sucks. But you know..wow.

You found a source of Yuengling in New England?!?
I look forward to the big reveal.

A P220 is definitely on my list if I can find one to shoot. I wish there was a range around here that rented handguns, it would make choosing waaaaaay easier. $550 is a nice price for a 220. That praying mantis is pretty cool. We don't have them around here, so I've never seen one. Neat picture.

I think I overstated the mantis's size. Let's call it 4".
They are COOL creatures. They'll sit on your arm or shoulder. About 20 years ago a friend and I found a couple and brought them inside. They ate the flies off the windows. Awesome. They're protected in CT. None of this was in CT. :)

Anyone have any suggestions for a .22lr semi-auto rifle that will cycle subsonic?

the 10/22 has more aftermarket parts than factory parts.
I'd say put a lighter Wolf spring in that bad boy.

I don't think you'll find a factory semi-auto that will do it reliably. These things are balanced, and the subsonics don't have the necessary impulse to run the recoil system generally. I'll be happy to be corrected here.

Regarding the 10/22, what I'd do is actually buy a second bolt handle, which holds the spring. Put the lighter spring on that handle, and ideally make one bolt handle black, one silver, so you can tell them apart. Then it's a simple swap for different loads, because I wouldn't want to mess with swapping the spring on the guide rod every time.

or... Go Bolt. :D

What Daizee said is probably your best option. OR also like he said, go bolt. I'll recommend a CZ 452 or 455.

Obligatory new Becker picture....

I know.... I know....

O.k. Jerry that is the ulimate kick in the nuts! If you wasn't to tired to go to twisted crew? You had to go by my shop twice from 65 to get there. What the hell. Now I'm insulted! I would of loved to help you drink that! And it would of been on your way. WTF? PM me and i'll give you my number for the next time!

I was showing you that I didn't EVEN get it filled.... :(

What is this flask? Very nice. Where can I get one?
My dad bought that years ago at a military surplus. He died of cancer nearly 26 years ago, so, older than that. He had a little nylon pouch for it, and used to carry water in it, to take his medicine with.

Yeah, I was pretty sure I wouldn't be able to find a stock semi-auto that would cycle subsonic.

I'll take a look at them, thanks for the suggestion, I guess going bolt would mean even less noise ;)

Anyone do anything cool for Labor Day? I just BBQ'd for a few close friends and did some day drinking, followed by an afternoon nap :)

I didn't do anything special. Worked last night. Got up today and went to the range for a while and shot some 22 and 45. I'll be headed to work in about 20 minutes.

Thanks. Easy night tonight for me. Jump in the truck, drive 90 miles, load up, drive 90 miles back, unload, park truck, and go home. Should be at work for around 5 hours and I'll get paid for 9. :) Have a good night all
