Thanks guys! No need to dial 999 ;) Some cold medication and nasal spray cleared me out. When I came home my oldest (5) was bouncing off the walls. After dinner I asked the wife if I could take him out for a run, so after dinner we did our usual outdoor route. The entire time I was hacking out that crap lol but now I feel alot better!

I missed my leg routine today for BSP :thumbdn: My knees need a break. Next week I get my usual 6 month Durolane injections :thumbdn: Makes me soar for about 3 days, but after I feel like I have new knees for about 6 weeks.
 
Sometimes exercise is the best medicine, Tim.....but not always. Hope you're feeling better.

Finally felt OK enough to do my post week 4 max test. Eked out 31.....so I guess I will not be in remedial push-up class, though I dunno if I'll finish week 6 by the end of the month. My weeks seem to be longer than I thought they were ;). Still, thank you for the encouragement (everyone), the motivation and opportunity, Crimson. There's no doubt I would not have embarked on this little quest unprovoked.
 
Awesome to see how everyone is progressing. I have slacked the last couple of days. My grandpa died and I've had a much harder time with it than I thought. But I'll be going at it again today.
 
I worked really hard this week in lifting and back exercises.
**Three days back:
I cut down a sixty foot high cherry tree. I dragged brush and loaded logs.. (some limbs/brush weighting 80+ lbs. in resistance)
The logs weighed between 60 - 140lbs.
600 light reps = 3 BSP
150 medium reps = 1.5 BSP
100 heavy reps = 2 BSP
90 very heavy reps = 3 BSP T:9.5 BSP
**Two days back:
I did 800+ light reps lifting chords of wood. = 4 BSP
50 heavy reps = 1 BSP T:5 BSP
**One day back:
I did 200 light reps with 20 lb. weights = 1 BSP T:1 BSP
+15.5 BSP for this week...
My last BSP: 38
Total BSP: 53.5

So I guess I'm just worn out in general. Knees were tender so I didn't want to risk any more heavy squats, and I only did 17 minutes conditioning.

Wait'll you actually get old......not that I would know, really.....oh, wait - I kinda would know. More than a half century of general self abuse...though I can't say I regret any of it. Would I change a few things? Hell, yeah. Regrets? Not really.

Didn't get a traditional workout today. Wouldn't really know how to score running around the house getting chased by my wife and kids, then all wrestling and doing bodyweight movements and exercises for an hour and a bit lol. All I know is I'm dead tired. I was doing curls and presses holding one child on each arm (the older two are 35 and 45lbs lol). My wife also showed me a chest pressing exercise that her dad used to do to them when they were kids.... you lie on your back with your legs up making an 'L' shape, you put your hands up like you would for a bench press. Then somebody stands on your hands while stabilizing themselves by holding onto your legs. You then proceed to press them up wile using your core to stabilize your legs as they hold on. Doing it with the kids was too easy... So I told the wife to step up for a few :D. Now uh, I'm a fan of real women, skinny just don't do it for me... I like something I can wrestle with and not fear of breaking... so it was like doing some very heavy reps (she'd kill me if she read this - also disclaimer, she does weigh a bit more then I do now- haha as i dig my hole deeper....) Even if it wasn't a pushup day.... I got a chest workout in lol.

Its going to be an early bedtime for everybody tonight!

Yep, the wife survived us all. After the kids went down I dropped lol. I can't give myself any points ;) This is what I'm training for! I need to be fit so that I can keep up with my kids. They harness this energy that I can't comprehend. I would have to take an IV straight from the fountain of youth (or maybe meth-amphetamine) in order to get that kinda energy where they are still vibrating after being up all day and just want to keep going.

A new and long day begins! Church, finishing Christmas shopping, and then a dinner with extended family at my In-laws. I may just have to have a few beverages later to make it all worth it. Maybe not too many as I stupidly agreed to go into work tomorrow for a little over-time to help out (doh)

I'm saddened to hear it, Cap. I'll echo what crimson said. I also hope he left you with some stories to tell your kids some day (or nieces or nephews....not saying everyone has to have kids....).

Not so nice weather today, at least temp-wise....damned cold, actually. Had to cut it a little short - which I shoulda done sooner than I did. Hard to brake or shift gears when your fingers are frozen. 29 miles.

4 Tabata sets and some deload deadlifts. Powerlifts are going to take a brief tonnage decrease as I focus more on conditioning and practical power.

BSP: 70+1 - push up day! I can't seem to recover recently. I need a day off lol. I can get through the workout but the max set at the end keeps getting the best of me. Today was lower then others, the toll of being up with sick kids in the night is kicking my ass.
 
Getting close to the end of this thing. Hopefully this has been some good motivation.

So, over the next week, I'd like you to declare which metric you're going for: BSP, or pushups/situps. Also, MYB, of course. I'm not entirely sure who is actually close to the Spartan 300, TBH.

Depending on how this goes, I may declare a winner (or two) and then run a round 2 for Jan/Feb, since I know some/most of you suffered injuries, losses, sickness, etc, and of course, the point of this is to improve health.
 
Its been some awesome motivation CF!

I'm going for the pushups/ situps. I have made pretty good progress (since the beginning of the discussion thread in September) but I'm still no where near the 100/ 200 mark. My last weekly test I was at 76 / 52. I've been also trying the two hundred lunges challenge (up to a max of 125 - started in the 40's), and the one-fifty dips (up to a max of 72 - started in the 30's). I've been adding my reps and counting my BSP in order to keep track of progress in my own fitness. I want to be able to get to a fitness level where I can get 200BSP in two months. Need 6.5 more miles under these heels in order to finish the MYB.

Count me in for anything to help increase my fitness. I've been talking with my wife, and trying to see if we can make a time so I can get the whole family into it. She always gets into a diet kick come the new year, she has also seen my results in the past few months and wants to start. I'll benefit from the diet too :D

385 pre jits calisthenics. Did 7 four minute rounds after, too. Only Tuesday and I'm eyeing the weekend already.

15 medium reps for powerlifting. Was gonna tack on some conditioning, but I got hungry. I'll do some conditioning with the class later.

I'll be using BSP. I was hoping to use my powerlift 1RM increase as my metric, but it only went up 10 lbs for the lower body and 5 lbs for upper before I had to reign it back in favor of more conditioning/ technique.
