Beckerhead "Spartan" Fitness Challenge GAW Round 2 is Live!

I'm going to use push-ups....since I don't have any strength to get points with....I'm in for the new year, since I'm pretty sure I won't be able to do 100 push-ups in the next week - at least not consecutively.

Putting this in here: Swam today for the first time in too long. Doesn't bode well for push-ups. Managed 1600m, but it wasn't pretty.

4+134.1=138.1 TTDftSC

Cycling's bound to get difficult soon....I think....so I'm going to try and get over to the pool more often.

Thanks again for the motivation, everyone. Crimsonfalcon: many thanks to you for the seed of inspiration. I most definitely would not have started something like this on my own.

101.24 BSP to date.

10 station circuit training, followed by overhead presses, pull ups, and chin ups.

1040 light = 5.2 BSP
45 medium = 0.45 BSP

5.65 BSP for the day.

106.89 BSP to date.

MYB: +2 = 93.5
BSP: 70+1 .

MYB: +4 = 97.5 - after work I took the kids on a 6.5km (4.02mile) hike around the neighbourhood. Had my youngest on my back the entire time
BSP: 71 - missed my leg day. Because of the time of year I've needed to go in early into work two hours early :( instead of getting my workouts in. Tomorrow is going to be the same thing, but I'm not going to miss my push-ups!

Bleh. what a crappy past couple of weeks. I've had a fever for the past three days... so I haven't moved my butt, but I am sort of keeping up with pushups. not improving, but keeping a status quo I guess. I don't mean to be a whiner. Looking forward to the holidays, getting better and finishing off the end of the year with a real pushup or two. we'll see. Glad to have this challenge crimsonfalcon. Thank you all for the kind words about my grandpa. I'm real worried about grandma, but she seems to be handling this better than anyone else really.

Oh- and crimson - I was going for pushups and MYB, but as you can see I'm not even close. I knew I probably wouldn't make it, but I really appriciate the challenge. I've been having a chance to rest my hip and it's feeling pretty good. I'm looking forward to a fresh start in January.

MYB: +4 = 101.5 - My best time today on my 4 mile route. I left the kids at home and hoofed it in 42min 6sec. I want to be able to get down to 36min or under. When I started my time was just over an hour with more walking then jogging.
BSP: 71 - have not gotten to my push-ups today yet. With how busy we've been getting ready for tomorrow I'm going to try to crank out a work out after the kids go to bed! - nope, going to listen to by body on this one and go to bed lol. That jog killed me earlier.

No worries guys. Cap, I'm looking forward to the day you get your first set of full pushups in. I'm sure it's closer than you think! Keep up the good work.

TBL, I hear ya. We all gotta listen to our bodies. Taking a day off isn't the worst thing ever. Idea is improvement here, after all. I got in a few solid workouts this week, and my body is pretty wrung out for sure.

My youngest gave me one of the best Christmas presents ever today.... I turned of my alarm clock, and he let me sleep in till 930! I'm normally up at 5 every day.

Looks like I needed that rest after all hah!

Rest is good. Counter productive to push through into an injury. It bears repeating, if you've improved over the last few weeks, it's still a net gain.

106.89 BSP to date.

41 minute kettlebell metcon.

872 L = 4.36 BSP for the day.

111.25 BSP to date.

Happy holidays, everyone!

MYB: +3 = 104.5 Treadmill!
BSP: +1 = 72 Did a max test, then finished up a few more to make my point.

I figured out how to use the webcam, Warning - turn down your sound. Youtube didn't like me using a copywrited song so it asked me to blur it, and I grunt out my last 4 pretty bad lol:

This video shows me I need to work on my form a bit. Need to start getting a little lower. Progress to be made! Still not that bad for a guy who 3 months ago could barely do 25 and I got to 79 - my best yet! Give me another few months and I may even try doing the clapping ones ;)

While I got time (kids at the inlaws) I'll add this too:

Again... almost there. I need to clean up my diet a little more.

That's an awesome progression!

111.25 BSP to date.

Circuits and deload squats. With the BJJ academy closed for the break and the holiday food debauchery, I feel like I'm way behind on where I need to be for January 30.

1040 light = 5.2 BSP
15 medium reps = 0.15 BSP

5.35 BSP for the day.

116.6 BSP to date.

That's an awesome progression!.

Thanks brother! in a place not too far from here, but in years past (lol) there was this young me that used to rock the fitness game. My brother and I used to work out together in my early teens to early 20's. Back then we were only concerned about how much weight we could push. Thinking about it now... and the way I damaged my body doing it... it wasn't very smart. Watching you guys gets me motivated to keep going. I don't need to bench press 365lbs again... I just want to do 100 consecutive pushups damn it! lol

BSP: +1 = 72 Did a max test, then finished up a few more to make my point.

MYB: +3 = 107.5
BSP: +1 =73 - push up day - tired didn't do as many reps per set as I wanted to, so I ended up doing more sets to make up the numbers. I'm pooped heh.
