Benchmade Discussion without Politics or Insults

Dumbest :poop: I’ve read. I’m not nor will I ever be. I’m just not on the side that shoots themselves in the foot them blames the other side because they can’t walk straight.
I thought you said you were out of here and not discussing your beliefs? That went out the window huh?

Man I’d love to buy a Benchmade that’s using that materials from the guns they destroyed. The gold class I’ve always considered hugely overpriced and unnecessary but I’d gladly pay gold class money for that and post pics of it DAILY. I could even oil with it with the tears from all the crying over a few inanimate objects!

Most of the people in this thread don't care that the guns were destroyed. But who cares if this hurts Benchmade's business as long as you're amused and get to rib members of the opposite political spectrum?

If it hurts their business then maybe I can pick up some of the knives on my wish list for cheap. As long as they don’t go out of business but I doubt that’d happen because there are plenty of reasonable people who don’t give two :poop:s about any of this that will keep buying their knives.

Me too. For everyone who would buy a gold class to spite the rest of us, 10 more would find it distasteful and if they were on the fence, the last straw. So it would both further animosity towards Benchmade, and the people who bought them would be stuck with really expensive production knives made from 4130 and 4140. That's a win-win. And given that someone thought that video from Les was a good idea, this is probably already in development.

How exactly are people "shooting themselves in the foot"? Benchmade isn't the only producer of high quality USA made knives. There are plenty of competitors out there.

We aren’t getting into politics remember? That’s just the way I see it here in my state and I’ll leave it at that. I realize that plenty of other USA makers have high quality knives I just like the designs and materials Benchmade uses. I thinks it’s crazy to overlook them just because you may not agree with them politically.

And some people think it’s crazy a regular staple of Shot Show doesn’t care about firearms. More middle ground . It just seems really disingenuous, on Benchamdes part.

And that's where we differ. If a company states that they have "unwavering support for the Second Amendment", I'm going to hold them to that. What I've seen so far and the official responses hasn't satisfied me.

As I've said before, I love my Benchmade knives and I will still keep them. I just won't purchase any new ones.

This as well; if you do believe in supporting a company despite their political beliefs would you still support a company with false advertising?

Fair enough. Agree to disagree. I just really don’t see how their actions or donations make them anti gun.

Putting out a fire with gas would have been more effective.
Absolutely. I could not agree with you more.

Over the years, Benchmade knives have been a very large part of my hobby life and discretionary spending. BKC has done exceptional favors for me and many people I know. I’ve attend their luncheon at Blade four years in a row. Etc, etc, etc.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that, as a customer, I’m compelled to sever my relationship with them.

When the OCPD post surfaced, I committed to never buying another new Benchmade, but I wouldn’t have been totally anti-Benchmade. Not true now, though, after watching Les’ video blunder. I will be selling the remainder of the Benchmade knives I’ve not customized.

That video -the actual words spoken & Les’ feeble performance- appear to be those of a half-hearted 2A advocate. They inspire the exact opposite of my confidence in his fortitude to support gun owners when it really counts, which is always. He strikes me as someone who does not have my back.

Les failed horrendously in his nervous attempt to straddle the line between gun-owners and the public “servants” (and other statists) he curries favor with. In my opinion, Les pathetic speech indicates he either doesn’t care about seriously pro-2A Benchmade customers & potential customers or he is completely out of touch with them. Either way, under current ownership, BKC has lost my business forever.

So you are not on Benchmade side ?

I think the guns should have been broken down and sold for parts or sold at auction and the money's after cost donated to charitys. That said I Pro 2A and pro Benchmade so does that make me an Oxymorron?
