Incrementalism is what is killing us as far as firearms legislation, restriction and eventual outlawing and confiscation. What looks like a mildly outrageous issue now is only a small part of the larger effort that it will add up to later, if we let it.

Does anyone really believe that activists and politicians will stop at firearms? Look at the country that used to be called Great Britain. They're outlawing pointed kitchen knives and requiring permits to own even the most innocuous household tools.

The gun community is tied hand-in-hand with the knife community, and if one falls, the other will follow soon after. The best thing we can all do is stop fighting amongst ourselves, put aside the idiotic differences that the left uses to further divide us and fight the progressive agenda whenever and wherever it shows up to shit on and destroy everything we hold dear.

There's a simple reason that there isn't complete information.
There is also some reading of the information that is creative in that it ensures that it fits within the narrative of the reader. I've seen it repeated several times that "benchmade says they don't contribute to politics" where I read that page as "if you are a politician, don't bother applying, we already know who we are going to donate to"

There's a Lawyer here in Canada who's been trying to raise $100,000 (CAD) to fight the Government on the terrible import ban. Imagine if Benchmade had donated $36,000 USD towards that the difference it would have made? If they have been "helping us Canadians" I certainly haven't heard or seen the benefit of it.

Take it from this Canadian how terrible it is to have your freedom of choice taken from you. There's so many knives I'm in love with, and I would love to purchase them from the US. But I'm not a gambling man and I can't afford to take the risk. Heck I can't even send a knife in for warranty as it's too much of a gamble if I will get it back.
The CBSA thing is extra-judicial. Several groups have been fighting to take away powers from the CBSA given to them by both parties which make them beholden only to their own decisions. CBSA was caught illegally monitoring airport wifi, and under their justification can use stingrays on airport grounds, and within some unspecified distance of the boarder. Its going to be a long fight, on many fronts, and I think many companies looked at the knife lawsuit as someone who would burn their powder early. I don't know how to fix that, but its different and bigger than just knives. As far as what benchmade has been doing, I don't know all of what they are doing. I know W&W copped a lot of hate, and so that's a sour well for many anyway. Last I checked they were still stocking knives though. These situations are complex. The Australian decision took a decade to overturn and it had huge support comparatively. CBSA hides their power plays behind "national security" and so they will play dirty, because that's what they want.

I listened to the Les video, is obvious that some are going to hear what they want to hear, and from the comments on what he should have said, I don't know what to tell you. I can't convince you that nothing he said would have swayed you. You made that choice for him. I don't know what its like to be in that position thinking not only about my future but the future of an entire team of employees. I'd also be really thoughtful of the language I used to the point it might seem odd, because of who's next door and the language they speak.

I wish I had a cure for cognitive dissonance, but I don't. It would be nice because I think then maybe we would get somewhere, but y'all gotta do that on your own. Only person in your mind doing work is you, make sure you are in charge.

As a service to Blade Forum members that are no longer able to stand owning Benchmade knives, I will buy them at 5% of their retail value, assuming the knives are in good condition.

You're welcome!

(I reserve the right to refuse any offer for whatever reason I feel like :p )

So you agree the offending property should be sold instead of destroyed. We found middle ground!

Who cares who they support politically. Doesn’t change the quality of their knives or their commitment to the customers. I’ll continue to buy benchmades exclusively because I like their quality and designs. The fact that they support blue over red is just the icing on the cake for me but even if that were reversed, I’d still buy them.

Sorry, I do not willingly support brands that are anti-Second Amendment. I own a dozen or more Benchmade knives, that will probably just sit there for now, I have no desire to associate with the company by carrying their stuff. A knife company has to go well out of its way to end up where Benchmade has gone. They chose to burn their own customers, and they have been unable to explain their actions. They can either go out and find competent management, or we can seek out the management we want elsewhere.

I must be missing something. The Senator that introduced S.1092 Interstate Transport Act of 2018 was actually a Republican named Micheal B Enzi. Yet Benchmade never donated a single dime to support him instead decided to support the opposition.

He still doesn't get it.
Les was too busy patting himself on the back to realize we can see who he supported.

Instead of using the shovel, Les opted for a backhoe to dig himself deeper.

BTW,
Is Oregon City that corrupt? He seemed terrified to actually address the issue, while basically saying he was paying cash "tribute" to local elected officials.

Cutting up those guns was a bad decision.

The money given to anti-gun candidates, only confirms the contempt I have.

The video did not instill any confidence or understanding of their position. Talk about political double talk, we support the 2nd amendment and anti gun politicians.

I’m done with Benchmade.

Did they say they were anti 2A? I must’ve missed that. Their donations don’t mean they’re anti 2A either. They just mean they support the majority of what those politicians platforms. Which is a good thing.

They said on their website that they do not donate to politicians.
That's a lie.
They consistently donated to gun grabbing politicians only, for at least 9 years straight.
Not just local ones either.

Combined that with gun chopping, and the rediculous responses shows a pretty clear pattern of how they stand, what they support, and their integrity (or lack thereof).

We all know and understand that you’re a socialist. Why you feel the need to continue telling everyone is beyond me.
