Benchmade Discussion without Politics or Insults

Am I going to get the antifaistaids if I breathe the same air? No?

We can agree to disagree. That's the line. Stay in your lane and I'll stay in mine.

Nor will catch any imaginary diseases from selling somebody a knife you don't want anymore to somebody that disagrees with you about something.

I never said Russians are specifically involved in this BM bru-ha-ha (but they could be acting as trolls thru individual accounts - that is still ongoing & reality)

My post is about being civil, and not instantly jumping to hate mode.
(fwiw, I think it makes sense to boycott the company if you support 2A and dislike the specific actions of the company)

edited to add:
I don't think they are specifically trying to push left or right politics - only hatred and discord from whichever side is more convenient in a given situation, usually both sides. The historical reports and logs are very clear; Russian trolls acted on the left AND on the right over years, on social media/internet/forums/etc etc

Somehow you assumed my point was that somehow Russians made the whole thing up??? That seems very silly given that I said nothing of the sort.

The crux of the argument is that the overlap between people who buy nice knives like BMs are quite often the same people who buy and believe in 2a rights.

Yet they donate to gun grabbing anti2a govt officials. That's the definition of stabbing me in the back while picking my pocket.

Just out of curiosity, texpat, how about if it was a Canadian who wanted to buy your used BM's today? A good quality tool at a vast discount is hard to resist. If you sell it to a non-USA resident you get them out of the country & out of local circulation. I ask as a hypothetical, only.

(curious about the semantics here) If my country has nothing to do with 2A... would I be an a$$ getting them at a 50% discount?

Of course not.

Buy what you want.
It's a tool.
It isn't evil, or political, it's simply a tool.
It's your choice.

Which is kinda the point.

Don't provide comfort or aid to the enemy. Simple as that.

I'm not going to give a self-declared socialist shooting lessons, and I'm not going to sell them any weapon. Period. They are already committing acts of violence against rightwing people. See bike lock guy on Berkley.

It's sad that that is the state of things today, but that's where things stand. The divide in the nation today is that bad.

i wont be buying anymore benchmades either
sorry guys
Don’t worry, for every person on a political side that boycotts, two people on the other side will buy. Doesn’t matter which side or what product, that’s just how it works. I for one can’t wait to get a new Benchmade. It’s been too long.

Free choice is the American way. You don't have to be smug about it.

Oh man I can’t wait for the HK Exemplar bout time somebody improved the axis lock.

The two that I have are to the point of not being worth a damn.
Of course there seems to be a few people that want something for nothing.
Based on the statements of many on this thread (and the closed ones before it), I am honestly surprised there hasn't been an uptick of people selling their Benchmades. I am just not seeing it here or on other sales sites.

HK as in Heckler and Koch HK? I’d open my wallet in a heartbeat if they put out any new knives! Just a shame they aren’t partnered with Benchmade anymore.

I think in all acuality BM stopped doing branded knives; Harley, RSK and HK. When that happened HK was picked up by hogue along with RSK. Hogue is also doing SIG Sauer knives too.

I’ve not owned any Hogues but I’m sure the knives are still disigned by HK and produced by Hogue? The new Ritter also looks interesting but honestly I could get the same design in a 560-1 Freek with just as high quality materials. Plus they offer a combo edge where the new RSK is only offered in plain. I do really like M390 though. Bohler hit a home run there!

Check out hogue knives. (the gun grip mfg). HK's knife moniker went to them. As well as Doug Ritter (with axis lock since it went out of patent).

Call me crazy but I'm going to keep buying Benchmades. I don't care about a company's political affiliations as much as I care about their products and customer service. I have have nothing but pleasant experiences with both.

As far as cutting guns...not sure about up in Oregon but my department sells guns on gov deals as long as they are legal. However, most guns in our property room are geared to be destroyed because they have been illegally modified.

I have no problem with a gun thats been stolen and had the serial number filed off being destroyed. These are the guns that typically end up in criminal's hands and are used in the commission of crimes. It's not like Benchmade is cutting up mint condition Colt Pythons and Brand new ARs.

best common sense answer yet!

They are calling it the ABLE lock; I really need to see a disassembly vid to see if I can see any advancements; I know they are using Wolff springs which is a huge improvement.

I actually emailed Wolff to see if they’d sell replacement omega springs because if there’s anything I can complain about with BM, it’s only the fact that they won’t sell just the springs. Wolff said they couldn’t sell in small quantities but it’d be awesome if a group buy was started! I’d love to have Wolff springs in all my benchmades!

Oregon law allows the resale of LEO confiscated firearms, and the funds benefit the department.

The OCPD Chief of Police has a department policy of destroying every gun they confiscate regardless of condition.
He is openly anti 2A, hence the original post and pics of BM chopping up guns.
