benchmade mini ritter & large m-390

Very nice!!!! on a side not im out of funds but there is a REI grip on the Forsale forum if anyone is looking to do up a blade swap!!

Igored- Coarse Texture Coyote Brown with green liners and titanium barrel spacers.
This is a dream knife now with that durable M390!
Sorry for the Photo size, I cannot get into my photobucket for some reason.
After I acid stone wash the screws and clip in a few weeks, she will be a happy camper.

Re: the clip issue, I hadn't paid much attention to mine, as it hasn't gone in pocket for daily use yet.

Glad to know it's not my imagination. Received a pack of three oxide clips, and to fit my 525BK-1101 had to bend the clip with pliers. The gap on these is huge...and half-way through where I needed it to be not only did it snap, but I received a nasty cut. When the clip snapped it came away with sharp edges. Have never had this problem with any other clips, they just bent to my specs. Hope they fix this issue soon!

Thanks billym. I am loving this thing at work. The new handle really makes it feel amazing. I love the color and texture. I might just make a deeper bevel in the finger area when I do the hardware.
Here is a closer handle picture from earlier. Was not sure what to think of the colors together, but in person the green really looks kick butt.

That is nice, I just got the deep carry clip like yours, but the tension is pretty light, now I'm a bit clip shy of trying to bend anything!!!

edited to say, I stopped being a wuss and bent the deep carry clip just a little, didn't break...felt good about that!

what I do is to remove the clip from the side I would use it on and reverse it and mount it on the other side, so the clip is sticking out past the end of the handle, then CAREFULLY I bend it down towards the end of the handle, the handle limits the travel so that probably helps keep it from going nuclear, and now it has adequate tension when I put it back on the 'good' side.

Reason for using the other side screw holes is, you aren't putting undue stress on the side you will ultimately place the clip, keeping those threads like new. I don't know that it would hurt them, but why take that chance ;)

The tension was weak here as well.
I took a pair of channel locks and squeezed the bend a bit tighter. I went too much . And even bent it back a little bit with no issues. The heat treat on this clip is great. It allows you to perfect it unlike the standard clip.
Go for it. Not a single problem here.

That looks great...

That's not a good thing.

I've been eyeballing these...to be honest I think the m390 is what will make me order one soon.

still need to pick one of these up.

This is my first Ritter Mini. I have four other Minis with the MDP blades, and the first thing I noticed on the Ritter is, the way the ramp is shaped, when my thumb is on the ramp, it feels a lot more secure, and it seems the jimping is more pronounced. It's not a big issue, I just like the feel of the Ritter better.
I don't think you would be disappointed if you pick one up...

I'm more and more impressed by this folder, I do have some G10 scales on order which will just be icing on the edge, but in the mean time, a very versatile blade.

That's weird. I read on another forum about a clip snapping as well. Good thing BM sends out replacements for free.

Here's a couple shots and no, I wasn't pressing it down to the scale, you'd never get it to bend down any further, so it was removed from the knife, held the one end solid as I went to bend it down a little so that it would retain better, as it arrived there was a gap between the scale and the clip, so it didn't grip much like that. Just went a tad too far and you can see in the photo where the letter E's spine shows deep into the clip and that made a weaker spot and she snapped, surprised me as I've had to do this before to other clips without any troubles at all.

I haven't had a Benchmade in my pocket for a while now. I've also never had anything with M390. I'm highly considering this knife though as I think the mini grip is a great EDC option.

my Sebenza has sat in the safe since my grip came in and i dont see it coming out any time soon, thinking of maybe selling it and getting a mini and 2 sets of wilkins
