Thank you! I think it's about 8" overall, steel is .12" AEB-L, Terotuf handle, G10 frame.Love it.
What are the specs?
That's the LTW 'Forest Trail' which was a dealer exclusive collab between LTW and Dale Stoops of The Knife Connection. 5" blade, A2 steel.Beautiful ! What's the second one, please ?
Love it. Have you heard any news recently from Vehement? I haven't seen anything available on their website or DLT for quite a while.
If you use Facebook, their primary communication is there. I'd recommend joining The Vehement Syndicate group - Matt livestreams once a month or so and that's where the occasional raffles and lotteries are, and also where the book openings are announced (although that ain't gonna happen anytime soon, they opened New Year's weekend 2021 and they filled for probably four or five years at that point - my original build date was supposed to be September 2022, but the people whose original build date was supposed to be January 2022 haven't gotten knives yet, so Knifemaker Time is going strong, God bless their hearts).Love it. Matt did a release for DLT's 12 Days of Christmas event, but he was killing himself to get it done and Jenna put the kibosh on it, so it ended up releasing just this past Wednesday instead. He made four OSS Fighting Knives, the one I have here with a knurled brass handle and subdued 'gunmetal' finish, one with a ridged brass handle and the same 'gunmetal' finish, and two with the knurled brass handle and darker 'darkwash' finish on the blade. He also made four OSS sleeve daggers, one satin, two 'gunmetal,' and one 'darkwash;' and five OSS lapel daggers that looked like they were all darkwash. They came in special packaging with Skinbender reproductions of the period sheaths and with reprints of the OSS service catalog information for the original knife.
They released this past Wednesday at 3 p.m. Central and sold out I believe in eight seconds... The fighting knives were $1,500, the sleeve daggers were $300, and the lapel daggers were $225. You can still see the item descriptions at DLT.
In other news, we are expecting midtech Mongrel folders (Vehement Knives design, made by Medford) in S45VN. These are back at VK finishing quality checks and should release in the next month or two (they wanted to let people's wallets recover from the Christmas beating, which was something fierce). There was a run early this past year in CPM3V. They looked and felt a lot like what you'd get if you made a Buck 110 into a titanium framelock flipper. Surprisingly for a Medford-made knife they were very slim and light in the pocket and had a good flipping action. Matt also said that he expected some new finishes on these ones and that a few of them would be custom or customized in addition to the production run. I was going to pass, but if we get Tigerlypse finishes I might not be able to resist. The CPM3V ones had brushed-finish faux bolsters and were basically just blue or bronze anodized or plain titanium with a couple that were black PVD coated.
Older news, but a midtech fixed blade called the K2 is anticipated sometime next year as well. The prototypes of this have a full-tang clip point blade with an integral double guard.
That's about all I can think of recently.
that's a good craftsmanship!I got a puukko in from Fred to join the Lapp-style Hunter that I have. He makes an awesome knife and I couldn't be more thrilled - (well, maybe if I got more of his knives). If you haven't had the opportunity to experience birch bark on a knife, I very much recommend it.
