Besides CPK knives, whaddaya like?

No fighting, nothing but lurve for Justin. Perhaps tough luv at time but it's still luv like that of an uncle for his bratty nephew ;)

You are right, the bevel gets a little wider at the tip. This is how I prefer them as I like the tip more acute for piercing (packaging, plastic bags, tape etc) but more obtuse right down by the plunge for trimming my cutticle and not wearing the edge so fast against my nails.

I know it's weird but it's what I've found works best for my everyday uses.

Most Shiros have that grind. A ways back I used to demand it be even but found over time that was more cosmetic than practical.

I really like the Varusteleka Puukko's. Overbuilt but still makes nice feathers.

I love mine, i got it to teach my wife some bushcrafting. Once i got it i was very impressed with the blade and especially the sheath. It worked great for fire prep, carved good for the thickness of the blade, the only thing it didn't excell at was food prep because it was so thick but still got the job done

Any one of you regulars on here own any of Mr. Matthew Gregory's knives? I have been lurking around and looking at his work ever since I have come to know of him from this sub and I think that his work is frigging gorgeous.

I have also become an admirer of his work so I was just wondering about his creations and who owned some on here plus his quirky personality is quite fun and funny. Right now, Nathan's work is doing an excellent job of keeping me very enthusiastic in here plus keeping me at bay so far as expenditure on other fixed blades. I thoroughly enjoy our own little yet expanding clique on here too

I have one of his and a second on order. He's an artist and makes what he wants to make. He will not make what you ask because you asked. So "On order" means there is a piece of wood there with my name on it that will one day become a handle. Maybe this year, maybe not.

Patience is a virtue with an artist like Matt.

This is why I will probably never own one of his works. I almost never buy on order. I want to see a finished product to fall in love with it. I've talked to Matt about this aspect of his artistic bent, which I understand completely, and why. I hope he will have something for me to look at one day that will wow me, and hope it happens. Meanwhile, certain of Ben Tendick's pieces, such as the one above, have been just what I was seeking. Some good stuff there.

Pics or it didn't happen :p

You've seen it. As you know I like to focus on usable knives and kitchen knives are certainly right up there with my pocket knife for most used.

This is his paring knife pattern made slightly different. It's meant to keep your fingers tight for good control over the tip, intended for processing fruit and veggies which is what I ordered.

Matt's a great friend of mine, and I'm lucky enough to have 3 knives that he'd made. I should also say that I am one of the very few fortunate individuals to have designed a knife which he decided to make- little feather in my cap there :)

All you really need to know about Matt's work in a general sense is that he is meticulous. If you have issues with flaws, Matt is the kind of maker you should seek out. This is one of the reasons he makes what he wants- he has full control over every aspect of a knife and can spend the time he needs to in order to build it as perfectly as he can, instead of having to constantly work through distracting details with his patrons. He is a guy that you can trust to do what he needs to do in order to ensure that his work meets his high standard, and he will tell you no- regardless of how much $ is at stake- if he doesn't feel right about it

I'd love to have a blade from Matt, or at the very least see his work in person, having always been an admirer from afar. I sure like what I see in pictures, and am definitely a fan of what I perceive to be his approach to life. Now if only we could get him to come out of his shell ;)
