Gesundheit!! 😁

Here's another from the assortment of beers (mostly stouts and porters) that were Christmas gifts from my wife. I've seen this one show up in this thread, and those who've posted it usually rate it highly. I now know why!! Really great imperial stout with no fancy ingredients (e.g., peanut butter, coconut, kumquats, jalapeños, maple syrup).

The label mentions Catherine the Great, a famous Empress of Imperial Russia. The greatest mathematician of the 18th century, Euler, spent the last 17 years of his career and life at the St. Petersburg Academy after Catherine the Great took over Imperial Russia, and here's a knife displaying Euler's Identity (thanks, Rachel):

Since I'm a hardcore "canoesseur" and have rarely met a porter I didn't like, I'm gonna say that you're a gentleman of refined and excellent taste!:thumbsup: 🤓
But I don't think I've ever had a Baltic porter. Is that significantly different from non-Baltic ones? I noticed the can says "seasonal lager", and I thought I had read somewhere that porters were ales (but I'm not a beer expert by any means).

California classic! Nice pick GT!!
Thanks, Taylor. :) It was really good stuff! I tend to enjoy imperial stouts very much, but as I think I wrote in the Guardians thread recently, the imperial stouts often have an ABV that's "above my comfort zone". 🤓

Here's another of the stouts from a Saugatuck Brewing Company variety 12-pack my wife got me for Christmas. (She actually picked one up for me around Thanksgiving, too.) This one is called The G.O.A.T for Greatest OatmealStout of All Time. It's very good, IMHO, but the name seems rather ambitious to me. 🤓 And I'm apparently pouring it incorrectly, because the label promises a "thick white head", but as you can see in my photo, I sure didn't get that! It's tasty, though, and my clear favorite in the 4 styles of stout in the variety pack.

Another stout from the Saugatuck Brewing variety pack I received as a Christmas gift. It's a coconut stout, which is not a flavor that excites me, but it's OK. (I also can't figure out why it's named with a modified Star Trek tagline.) I've had it before in a bottle instead of a can, 4 years ago, as seen in the 3rd photo. (Apparently, I like drinking it while holding a long yellow knife. 🤓 )
