BF Special Edition Skyline

The only real obsticle that I see, is that if it is a "Blade Forum" knife, it's appeal is going to be minimal outside of BF, so we would need to get all 600 from here. It's not like we could try to find 30 dealers to each get 20 to re-sale. Maybe if we get close, expand to the rest of BF (not just the Kershaw section) and see if some other people would like it as a BF-knife that happens to be a Kershaw.

Just like the Leek, Blur, and other knife variations that Kershaw has done in the past there are Skyline collectors that will snap this up as another to add to their collection. I don't want to speak for Dave but I think 600 is easily doable.

That would depend completely on several factors, price point being important, but mainly I think if the logo is attractive and not something that a non member thought was ugly then they would be sellable outside of Bladeforums. I think it is possible that all would sell to members, but I would certainly not want to have to count on that, but I have wanted to do a special skyline for a while and Thomas knows about that. I had originally thought about S30V and Maybe Tan G10 or perhaps Digicam. I am open on this idea, I would still need you guys to do most of the work in gathering ideas and that stuff, then I can check on pricing when we have some options in place.

I like the Digicam G10, or maybe a deep purple. I also like the S30v Steel.

Depending on price i'd buy 1-2
 
I mean we could make the BF edition simply be the model number. 1760BF, we wouldn't have to go elaborate.

Colorwise, pretty sure that blue has been the one I have heard from most often on here. Blue for blade forums.
 
My idea is to split it up into 4 price ranges and get a vote. Basing the following off of the Leek street prices...

1) Same skyline, different G10. Price shouldn't be too much more than the regular Skyline so roughly $35-40

2) Different G10 with stonewashed S30V - $65-$85

3) Carbon Fiber with Elmax - $125-150

4) Titanium with ZDP189 Steel - $175-200

I'm thinking #2 would sell the best.

I would be in with number 1 or number 2. 3 and 4 I'd not be interested in due to the cost.

Agree with everything you say (not that it matters since you're the expert). Since bladeforums doesn't have a logo of any sort, it could just have bladeforums simply etched on it. The EDC Spyderco etching turned out pretty good. Nice, clean and simple.
 
The more I think about it, the more I love the idea of #2. A stonewashed S30V blade with a unique G10 color...I definitely think that would be the way to go.

I think you're right. Stonewashed S30V is good stuff. And at the price point you quoted it would be affordable.
 
As for me, I'd want blue G10 and ZDP-189.

Yeah, it's a bit rough and I made a few mistakes but you get the idea.
 
So do we want to start a materials thread without the costs? Or have Dave run a few to get an idea to get cost? What is the next step?

Awesome idea,jade g10 looks almost elegant and elmax would be perfect-

hate to say this but I'm not the biggest fan of s30v
