Blade Forums Spring Street Barlow (BF Knife 2021)

Yes, Ed, the recurve is slight and could easily be sharpened out if desired. I've never had trouble sharpening recurves even on flat stones-- you just use the edge, but I do have a 1/4" round diamond steel that makes it even easier. Supposedly you get a little more cutting power with a recurve, but that has never come into play for me with a folding knife. I use fixed blades when I need power.

Good....glad I was able to bring you laughter...er but only if it was happt laughter and not that scary "I'll get even with Him one day.." type of laughter..
And speaking of derailment...whooo...see the one yesterday at Kembla Grange ...not far from my old home..?
And you will never know which.... 😐

Mine definitely has a slight recurve...just can't figure out a good way to capture it in a pic. But doesn't really bother me.

So most of what can be said about this knife already has been said. Just thankful it arrived with no real issues, has great color, snap and size. It will be a permanent member of my collection and has probably pushed my natural bone 86 out as a result. Mine is a little darker than others but I might let it ride in the pocket without a slip to get a little pocket wash. Thanks for all who helped make it happen. I hope it won't be the last and we can learn from this process to make it a little smoother but if it is the end it was a fitting knife for it.

Mine arrived yesterday. It has the typical great GEC fit and finish. After a good joint flushing with many drops of mineral oil, I managed to get all of the normal black grit out and drained onto a white paper towel. The blade action is now just about perfect, in other words, firm and snappy.

Thank you to Bill Howard and all the good folks at GEC for being so good at what they do. Thank you Charlie ( waynorth waynorth ) for the work you have done to organize polls and to communicate with Bill. Your relationship with Bill is probably the only way this knife would be made by GEC. Thank you Barry ( gunstockjack gunstockjack ) for your work. You have distributed the knives more than once and we know it is not easy. Thank you meako meako writing a classy tube label summary.

It's a tasty knife indeed!! 🤣
Thanks for the kudos, Travman!!

Welp, there's another Spring St barlow up on FlipperBay, current bid $570. But, this is only the second forum knife that I have seen on the auction site (so far) so that's actually kinda good, maybe? I think limiting the purchase to one per probably helped to slow re-sales quite a lot. Good call on that.
