That's great news! I convinced myself I didn't need one, but then I saw them again today, and had to order one. I placed the pre-order today, and my card was charged right away. Hopefully that means I got in on the first batch, and that they truly are just about to ship. Worst case, Knifeworks did post that they'll be shipping within a week.

In an email sent on August 13th, KnifeWorks said this about the Benchmade 710-1401 Knifeworks Exclusive:
"These will be shipped to you by 8/22! - NEXT WEEK!
We have about 40 available at this time after the existing 210 pre-orders have been filled.
So, there is still time to secure one from the 1st run!
After this 1st 250 have been sold, we expect our next batch of 250 of these to be shipping in approx. 1 month."

My knife is inbound. The picture seems to show a really sharp looking 710. It is a must-have for 2014 in my book.

Yes indeed! The scales shown look like those of a "pimped" knife - very impressive. I'm really liking seeing the pictures with the silver hardware; it brings the whole aesthetic together.

I just received mine today. The contoured scales are really nice, in my opinion. I have not see pictures of the standoffs as of yet and thought you might like to see them.
