Well, I think that is just about my dream Bose! I think I need to get on the waiting list...

That is one beautiful T. Bose Trapper. The Stag scale covers match perfect, there is nothing that could be added to make this knife better. It is the premier master of modern spring back knives, recognizable work and can be only attributed to him.

A question if I may ask ? Is the back blade a true "Warncliff Blade" designed by Sir Warncliff and produced by Joseph Rodgers & Sons in a knife pattern designed by Warncliff also? Is it a lambsfoot blade ? Perhaps it's a T. Bose design and should be named so..

In any instance it is a very utilitarian blade, and, compliments the T. Bose Trapper....

I don't know if Tony or Reese ever used some of that old Remington stagalon that Schrade made popular but I think Kerry has. ;)

So are you guys thinking of changing the name of that knife to a:

“Joseph Rodgers & Sons.. New Remington (Schrade) Staglon lambsfoot utilitarian trapper designed by Sir Warncliffe, made by TBose”???

I'm just so spineless when it comes to these knives that it's hard for me to say that there is something that I don't like, or that there is something that I like so much better than something else.

However, I think good quality stag is my favorite material for a handle. Although Remington bone is awesome. Did I say spineless? Not to mention ivory. But for everyday carry some of the stag I've seen is fantastic.

Moreover, I love the slight flare of stag on the back of the handle. And the slightly heftier grip of stag. Although a slim Micarta 4" BP fits in your pocket and hand like a million bucks. Did I say spineless?

I'll go take my meds now. Please excuse me.

I was just asking the consensus on the back blade correct name.. It is a T. Bose Trapper Pattern IMO....

There's a waiting list ?

That's unbelieveable, like all the rest lately, just overwhelming, beautiful to look at. Some Happy knife nuts out there,I'd say.
Truly amazing.
Off to go bang my head :)

To add to the consensus that Darrell is requesting, I think Tony's Wharncliffes are slightly slimmer than the originals, but are Wharcliffes nonetheless.
A Lambsfoot is different, and is like a tapered Sheepsfoot. Lambsfoot blades are ugly, relative to the graceful sweep of Tony's Wharncliffe IMO.
Here are a couple; Baaa Baaa Baaa!

You got it Charlie, it's a slender wharncliffe. Better for zipping a squirrel's belly open. Not a true wharncliffe but closer to that then a lambsfoot.

WOW!

Another beautie from Tony! I know that someone will sure be happy carrying that one in their pocket!

Beautiful stag and Great Photos of it!

Kent

Well thanks to all for the lesson in blade shapes... Now I know what to call it. It's the "ZIPPER".... Squirrels are Rodents...

From the looks of her she looks like quite the performer for just such a chore!. As luck would have it, I am headed out first thing tomorrow morning for Squirrel and Rabbit hunting at one of my favorite brier patch thickets.. :)

I sure would love to test one of these zipperscliffe blades out some day soon. :D .. Well, one of these days soon, I recon. :p

Is that a Zipper in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me??!!
And who're you calling a rodent??

I'm not sure I know how to correctly word this, but at this point, here goes...
We have a great thread here, most, admittedly enjoy.Incomparable custom slipjoints,I guess you could argue.
There's alotta talk about who named & called some good looking antique bone what.
Up 'til now,no one had a problem. Now if I were a guy hanging out with a bunch of fella's,and had to watch everything that I said,'cause they'd come back at me quoting me verbatum & holding me accountable for something that ,at the end of the day, makes not much difference, one way or the other.
I might just not want to hang out with them any longer, carrying on like that.
Some of the voices I hear recently, don't even have any knives that bone is on, being questioned,so what's up with that ?
Custom knifemakers are human beings, what's up,you never saw & called a shade of brown someone said was grey ?

I like a good knife discussion,I like these forums & I like to contribute.
I like the idea that from the beginning of this thread Tony Bose commented,on stuff here & there. I'd like that to continue.
So call the old bone whatever floats your boat, please,it is gorgeous under any name
This post was to hopefully calm this old bone BS down.
I hope I said it OK enough to get the point across & not to PO anyone

Huh...? Yo, he who gets pissed off looses. Simple as that. Chill, it's all good. Keep the flame up.

No doubt I'm chilled But everyone should just remember, maybe he was busy making knives, making a living & never gave it 2 thoughts what to rename the old bone

Maybe those who want to keep the controversy alive can take it offline to email or PM. And don't worry, Vince, gentle messages have already been sent out on this topic. Now let's just try to get back to enjoying the knives. (Not that there's anything wrong with wanting to expand the knowledge base in a non-confrontational manner.)
