Breathe Easy respirator with rechargeable battery for a SCREAMING DEAL.

Well, I received the 2 that I purchased today. One of the chargers lights up, and seems to be charging that battery the second one the charger doesn't light up--so I went ahead and plugged it into the other battery anyway, and I will check and see if it did anything in the morning. I am going to have to order a different faceshield as the one that came with the system is too tight for my glasses under it. If anyone is aware of a place to get a good deal on and M series faceshield I would love to know it.

Interesting stuff.

Got mine today. Gonna need a larger face shield too. Anyone know if either of these MSA masks are compatible? Can't find any info through Google that would help.

Don't buy your first mask over the internet, or in big box hardware stores.

Go to a real industrial safety supplier
They are trained to fit you correctly and have inventory of different masks and all the sizes

There are usually three or more face mask sizes
S, M L Xl

Some internet bargain may leave you with one off fittings that you can;t or don't know how . / where to get filters for

Stick with big names like North or 3M and you can always get filters fittings and upgrade kits

If you buy in the hardware store, in six months, a year, maybe two when the contract runs out

they no longer carry that brand and the kid who works there will disavow that they every sold it because it was before he ever worked there.

Got mine today. Fits great, which is unusual for face masks due to my small face and beard. Same basic setup of the mask as the SCBA units at the volunteer fire dept, so it's familiar to me. Now if the battery will just hurry up and finish charging I can try it out.

Going somewhere and trying on the mask for the correct size makes sense. In this case the filters are on the blower, so it's just a matter of making sure the hose from the blower connects to the mask properly.

Thanks!

Mine was just in the duffle bag with everything else. The filters and charger were the only wrapped items.

Is there a link? The one in the original post is all sold out.
Click in the button that says "Seller's other Items". I don't see any up right now, but they seem to be putting a few up every couple of days. Probably will continue until they run out.

My second one arrived, but unfortunately it arrived with a cracked facemask. Hopefully the seller still has some spares.

Also, the expiration date stickers on the filters are unreadable (scratched off)?. I already assumed they were expired when I bought them since this is a NOS deal, but it would be nice to know how recently they expired so that I can make a more informed decision when I ask 3M about whether I can still use them for particulates. I'll update the thread once I hear a 3M engineer's thoughts on this -- I'm wondering whether only the vapor filter (and not the HEPA dust filter we care about when grinding) deteriorates over time.

I know this post has been up a little while, but I can't find more for sale from this vendor. Typical for me, day late and a $ short...:grumpy:

3 more sold in this afternoon (eastern time). I checked around 4:15pm EST and there was still at least 1 left. Keep refreshing the vendor's 'items for sale' page and, if there are any left, then I think you have a good chance of grabbing one.

I wonder if the seller has any with large masks? hahah

Used mine while surface grinding last night. It's definitely nice to have the cool air circulating. I wish the hose was about 6-12" longer, but I suppose I can always hike the pack up. May see about getting some kind of shoulder rig for it.

I'm going to look for one of the m105 mask posted earlier. Putting the hose in the back will help with length.

I find that the hose is short too. I end up rotating the pack more to the side which gives me more length.

Try sending the seller an email. He listed a few more when I did.

Are all the masks this seller is putting up the same size? I looked in their past items and didn't see a size listed.

3m makes a disposable hood for the breathe easy. I got one for around 35 bucks from Legion Saftey. Part number BE-12. It looks like the hose changed at some point because the attachment point in the back is not threaded to accept the hose from the RACAL version. I imagine some duct tape could fix that issue. It's pretty flimsy though so I think I will just use the regular mask. I removed the ear pieces from an old pair of glasses and replaced them with shock cord so I could wear the mask and still see. Works great. Here is a list of the updated part numbers from 3M.
