BRKT Boone II - Returned for Flaw

Hey, look, I still think Halbie is influenced by his disagreements in the past, and maybe he doesn't even realize it, but I should not have called him an asshat here. So, I apologize for that.

As already stated by several posters, flaws in burl are normal and expected. That being said I would have sent this one back as well. You paid for it...you're not happy with it and you returned it.

Burl is the worst part in the tree from the point of real strenght, a rifle stock should never been made out of such a material. But it looks very good, the imperfections are part of it.Prices for 100% perfect burls are extremely high : over hundreds of $.
Even in this one there are "imperfections" and I find them normal

It's a Tanto made by Alexis Salsi of Belgium and the wood is Amboina burl .He needed a lot of it for the sheath. In my not humble opinion: when you buy a product =burl and you know not what are the properties of it=imperfections then it's your own fault.I found no imperfections in his knife and one should also consider the fair price.Blaming this brand is not gentlemenlike IMO.

The knife that Halbie just bought was made in June of 2007.

All of the woods I use are Premium Fancy Grade woods. They are the Best I can buy. I only buy Top Quality Woods.

Amboynia Burl comes to me in Sticks that are 5 inches long--1.5 inches thick and 1.5 inches high.

I don't have x-ray vision so I don't know what it will look like until it is totally finished.

Amboynia is very oily so it is not normally Stabilized. It does not need to be.

That handle is not at all unusual and did not Slip through any QC. It is how the wood looks and any open lines are filled before they are shipped.

If a customer wants it filled further or even replaced--we do it for them--without question.

I told you a couple of weeks ago that this fellow was going to buy one of our knives and find something wrong with it.

That is exactly what he did.

This is not about the Wood.

To even discuss the wood is wrong thinking and furthering his agenda. We always do everything we can to satisfy customers.

This is about him being banned on KF.

We normally want customers to send any knife they have issue with to send the knife to us--not the Dealer.

In this case we would do the same.

We warranty the knife--not the owner.

We even warranty our Knives for Trolls.

I hope we do find out the name of the Dealer so I can have the knife sent back to me so I can inspect it myself.

I make about 25,000 knives a year and stand behind every one of them.

This one is no exception.
