buck in movies

Last night I watched a movie on the free movie site Hulu. The bad guy in the movie had a Buckmaster. The movie was a low budget sci-fi called Badlander.

The series Thriller hosted by Boris Karloff is now out in DVD. I used to be a big fan of Boris Karloff when I was in elementary school, I liked the scary stuff and would watch Thriller back then. I bought the set for "old times sake". There are some good scripts and top notch acting, not to mention the fact that Elizabeth Montgomery, Marlo Thomas, Mary Tyler Moore and Ursula Andress were knock-outs back in the day.

Last night I saw Episode 22, Fingers of Fear which first aired on 2/21/61 and there is a large stag handled hunting knife that looks like a larger version of the 119, but it looks like a Buck. The knife is shown prominently in a few scenes. Check it out and see what you think.

Watched "The Tourist" last night with Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. In two scenes the bad guy uses a 119 Special. Kind of neat to see a Russian tough guy in Venice, Italy pull a 119 from under his coat.

I believe there's a 119 with the cocobolo handle in Lost. Part of John Locke's collection.

In one episode of "Bones" they had a table covered with knives and other sharp things to try to figure out what the murder weapon had been. I'm sure that there was a 119 and a 110 in that mix.

It's been a while since I watched Easy Rider, but I think Dennis Hopper had a 110 in the scene where the rednecks beat Jack Nicholson to death.

Was thinking of that one myself, but my fuzzy memory tells me it was a 112. I'll watch it again at some point, otherwise it will bug me.

Apocalypse Now....

Capt Willard is wearing a big Buck (119?) when he first meets LTC Kilgore. The knife seems to disappear till the end of the movie, when Willard has it in hand briefly before he leaves the boat ("never get off the boat!") and kills Kurtz ("terminates his command.")

I haven't gotten up the nerve to watch it yet (it's 3.99 or 3 for 10.00 so probably not high on the quality list), but there's a movie called "Poor Pretty Eddie" that has the resident psycopath holding a 120 on the cover.

Found the movie sleeve. It's an obvious low budget.
