Can anyone here make this knife for me?

I had to try making one of these. It's from a chunk of .45 cal bull barrel (1040). The "facets" were heat treated and tempered.

Thanks,
That was a previous wound from a few days ago. The flap of skin was super glued closed and it's good to go.

I love the 3D software. I see at least 3 different ways of holding the knife.

Would it be possible to show the knife being held in the hand on that software? :D

What size are those rings? ;)

The ring is 7/8" and fits perfect. That is one of the advantages of making your own, getting the perfect fit and making sure it's comfortable.

I couldn't imagine it was that big though if its something that will go on a key ring. Maybe its not for a key chain or ring and I just figured it was?? Does the original come with a sheath of some kind maybe? I guess it could be a neck knife now that I think about it.

I picked up one of those years ago and never did anything with it. When someone on the forum mentioned it one day, I got in touch with him and sent it to him.

It came with a nice little leather sheath that fit on my belt for a crossdraw. I don't remember the dimensions of it, but the holes were just about big enough for my fat fingers.

B Finnigan, that ring came out really nice. Also, it's cool where the material came from.

The owner of the knife mentioned that he knows of 6 effective ways of holding the knife. I can only think of a few. That's why I was so intrigued by the design.

Great models JTknives! I didn't think it could be done. Are you a graphics design artist or something? The first and third pics are the ones that I have in mind. Also various grips with the ring and little finger like in an ice pic grip.
Thanks JTKnives.

I have to agree DH,those are some great models. Can't wait to see the finished product.Great work JTKnives !!

O and here is one more way o hold the blade

hand with knife 4.jpg

last night while i was in bed i counted all the diffrent ways you could hold this knife and i came up with 18. now some probabley arnt usefull but still what other knife do you know of that can be help in 18 completley diffrent ways. I should be getting the steel very soon. ill keep every one posted. also the list is up to 5 people waiting and i onley ordered enought steel for 9 knives so if you want one let me know and i will put you on the list. thanks everyone for the support.

Once these knives are out, I am pretty sure that a number of effective ways to hold this knife will surface. That is really cool.
I will post that you have steel for 9 knives. I have received some requests for this knife to be made with the original style blade. I know of 2 members who will be waiting for this knife to be available with the original blade. These 2 members have shown a lot of interest right from the beginning. JTknives, this is your call.

well im hopeing between 50-75 but i need to make one first to see what kind of time is involved, also i need to come up with a sheath design. should it be leather or kydex.

I love leather, but kydex will give you more carry options like neck carry that is difficult to get from leather.

B Finnigan, I got the knife! Superb work my friend. Very happy with the outcome.
JTknives, now that I have handled the knife. I was thinking of a variation. I was thinking to have more of a blade to place your thumb on. I was thinking if it would be possible to move the blade from under the hole, to in front of the hole more.

how much thumb room do you need, i can increese the blade length to 2.5 or 3" so you will have 1/2" to 1" for your thumb. i can even put a recess into the thumb area to fit the curve of the thumb. just let me know what you think, now that you have one.
