"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Well, the wife and I were up at 6:00 AM this morning - not early I know but early for old codgers like us and we were off to the Dental Surgeon up in Klamath Falls, OR. That guy took off a slice of my inside cheek that I swear was the size of a football field and another slice off my lower gum that I swear was the size of an Olympic Swimming Pool. Then he had the gall to poke more holes in my mouth as he stitched everything up.

At least I got to stop at Home Depot and get a new battery powered chain saw before I visited the Doc.

Back home now and time for some pudding.

Oh, the Doc prescribed some Vicodin and I had the prescription filled but don't think I'll take it as it leads to OIC (Opioid Induced Constipation). Not good for an old guy and besides it doesn't hurt all that much. I can put up with it.
Get well soon, Ed.

I hope you heal ASAP, ED!:)
That guy had a lot of nerve using your brand new chain saw inside your mouth!

Danged if it didn't feel like it.:):rolleyes:

The worst part was when they stuck all the hypo needles in to numb everything.

Hey, if you don't take the meds, it means you can go ahead and fire up that new chainsaw! Hope you heal up soon, ED!

There's a Seinfeld clip for everything...

The Velvet Fog! :D

Is Little League the funnest part of the year?! Plus it's my break from coaching. I coach football and basketball. High school football practice starts in May....

Here's a photo of the of my 9 year old son at the cages early tonight, showing off his guns LOL.

That's great. Nothing better than hanging out with your kids and watching them have fun. Enjoy your break.

Sorry to hear about the mouth-slashing, Modoc ED Modoc ED .
Heal up soon and play with your new saw. Let us know how it works.
I got a corded one I haven't used yet. I don't have to travel with it, and it seems like the gas one was seldom in ready-to-go condition.

I had a chunk out of my tongue once. I knew it was a scar from biting myself in my sleep (probably dreaming of steak), but the assistant didn't believe it and the dentist humored her. I think I took the drugs for that.
I guess I got drugs for the wisdom teeth also. I remember talking to the pharmacist and thinking I sounded like a developmentally challenged Alfred Hitchcock, after the novocaine.

Heal up soon, Ed!

I'm seeing light at the end of one of the (many) dark tunnels I've been in for the past year or so. I agreed to a job offer that I received yesterday. A chapter closes and a new begins. Much higher ceiling with the new company, too, which is a relief. It's tough to say goodbye to a company you like, especially after spending almost a decade there, but I've been wedged against the ceiling so tightly that it has been dragging me down.

Another plus is that I finally pulled the trigger on a bunch of leather bending supplies and materials, so hopefully I'll be embarassing myself with terrible quality leather goods soon! :D

Anyone read the new exchange rules https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/updated-exchange-rules.1646264/#post-18826796
This is my favorite part.
"In plain English, there will be no more "net to me" sales or add 3.5%, 4%, or 30% PayPal fees ... sellers need to do their own math and list a TOTAL selling price shipped."
Seems discriminatory against those of us who can't do math.

Speaking of which, is it possible that I miscalculated the sound-box volume of my exemplar?
