"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

With the sheer number of cat pics posted in the "Show our mugs" thread
sending ANYTHING by carrier pigeon might just be as futile as inter-continental smoke signals :D

:D True! My neighbour also recently had the great idea of feeding a bunch of stray cats, so now I've got about 15 of them in and around my garden! I like cats, but I like to see some wildlife too!

Nothing yet, Jack. Ryan brings up a good point. Perhaps a drone? (Sans ballistics.)

Blimey! Pack-hamster would be quicker! I'll give it another shot Elliott (though not sure 'shot' is the most appropriate word, 'trickle' maybe!)

Did you get the test email I sent to you earlier?

I did thanks Elliott. Replied to it and have just re-sent that. They're both stored in my 'Sent' folder. If you don't get either, I'll try again tomorrow. The long and the short of it is I'm trying to palm some crampons off on you! :D

I won't use 'em, Jack, but thanks. I'm going to send you another email momentarily with another email address to try.

I guess I'm gonna have to break out the MacAllan 12. That's the best I've got.

(But I'm still finishing up some Montepulciano.)

Used to be my regular tipple when I lived in France, strangely we only get the 10, 15 and above here.

Montepulciano's a great grape!

Sounds like you're having a pleasant day :)

The pipe giveaway was an extra nice touch I thought :)

The closest I get to a mixed drink these days is mixing two or more kinds of whisky together to try something a little different.

One of the smoothest whiskys I've ever tried is Canadian Club Classic 12 year old, but it's a little light for sipping. So I added a splash of Old Grandad 114 to boost the octane a little. Oh my . . . is this ever yummy!

Happy Thanksgiving to all knife knuts everywhere!!

Are you sure you are being "driven to" the Aberlour A'Bunadh? I think you'd have to drive me away from it, if it were in the same room with me.

Too kind, Jack. I'm hoping that we'll be able to visit in the not too distant future. Consider this an invite to stay at Chez Blues should you find yourself adrift on this side of the pond.

Cheers and mind your head! :p

I might possibly have employed just the slightest amount of dramatic license there Frank! :D I'll save you a dram or two! :)

Thanks Elliott. The offer of beer and slipjoints in Otley is still open - Or we could go somewhere better! :D

I'm only having a couple, got to work tomorrow unfortunately. You folk all enjoy yourselves :)
