"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I've used a paper towel and masking tape in the past. When I checked in to get stitches the person at the front desk asked, what can we do to help the blue tape guy 🤣
I can’t tell you the number of times I used exactly that combination on a job site injury (electricians nick themselves all the time) … works pretty well!

You and me both brother, although I usually just chuck some insulation tape on as its hanging off my tool belt and easy to hand . Worth noting I also keep up to date on the tetanus shots :D

One of the nice features of having a young daughter (many years ago) was that I always carried an assortment of adhesive bandages in my billfold, since she could do something that resulted in a cut or scrape almost anywhere at any time. If I happened to need one myself, having them right there in my billfold was very convenient! (Of course, the first couple of times I used a Little Mermaid band-aid on myself I was a little self-conscious, but that didn't last too long.)

Just after getting to school this morning I got a call from Mrs. Bigfish needing me to come home and remove this guy from my mother-n-law’s house. I’m not squeamish about many things but I don’t care to get too close to bats. Don’t mind them flying around but having to get one out of the house isn’t much fun. 8A86E1DF-8EB3-4B47-A61E-0D77E7894C84.jpeg

How'd you accomplish it? Welding gloves?

I'm just listening to the radio, and a bloke started talking about seismology in the US, then says, as an aside, but also to try and give the impression he is qualified to talk about the subject, "I mean, I was involved with the Wikipedia page on this"! 🤣

I spent most of my Summer following Drum Corps International (DCI). We travelled to shows and also watched them on live streams for the three months they were on tour. DCI is a marching band competition consisting of ~35 high level marching band across the country. The bands are made up of percussion and brass instruments, there are no wind instruments like clarinets or saxophones. They have ~12 minutes to put on a show that showcases their music ability, their story line, their dance, etc. All the young musicians and guard (dancers and rifle spinners) have to try out for the individual corps, and if selected, they get to spend the summer on a bus, driving around the country, sleeping on gym floors, and entertaining crowds of thousands of people... all for the chance of competing at the finals held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. I've been a big fan of DCI for several years now, ever since my boys introduced me to it when they were in high school. My son competed this year with the Sacramento Mandarins, our local corps. They took 10th place with their highest score ever. I'll post their show here in case anybody is interested in checking it out, and also it gives me a chance to brag about my son. 😁

Make sure to go to full screen and turn it up loud... the shows in person are very loud.
Also notice all the dance and theatrics involved in their shows... It's a major production.
