Prayers, smoke and thoughts...hip surgery is rough, but a lifelong farmer has built up some 'determination points' along the way, so keep everyone's spirits up.

Some of my fondest memories are those of times I spent with my grandpa. I'll definitely him and you in my prayers.

Hi Andi, please forgive me as I hardly ever stray to these parts-but perhaps I should a bit more.
All of our kindest thoughts go to your wifes Granpa, I hope with all of my heart he can gather the strength he has so earnt after 80 years of hard toil and come back to being at his best.
Please keep us informed on his progress Sir.
Please share our thoughts with your Wife.

Well guys, today it´s me who needs some prayers and smokes from your part of the world...

My wife´s grandpa fell yesterday and got a hipfracture. They took him to hospital and during surgery on his hip he got a Pulmonary embolism. We just got a call that the docs don´t know if he could make it at all. I hope and pray everything will be fine ...

He´s 80 years old and was a farmer his whole life long. I hope he will make this all and will be back up on some time.

:(

May he have a speedy healing and a full recovery.

Prayers sent Andi. Hope he's OK

Andi, I just saw this. Prayers sent his way this morning. Give us an update when you have news.

Ah, jeez, sorry to hear that, Andi. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for him, and for you & your wife.

Thanks for the kind words once more, fellows.

I wanted to visit him at hospital today; but I couldn´t go to him - they told me that only the closet relatives can visit him. So I had to go home. No big deal at all. I really hope everything will be fine again. He´s in coma now and nobody knows what will be in future.

I've figured out that I have to limit how much I come to this forum so that I don't go broke. I would just like to thank everyone for this great problem I have now.

Oh, boy... Smoke in the air from Philadelphia. Your wife is lucky to have you, for emotional support during this difficult time.

Leaving home.

After living almost my whole life in Maryland, I think I am leaving to migrate to Texas. The Maryland house has passed ur insane governors 28 page gun control act, and between that and the taxes, I do not believe I will die in this Peoples Republik that this state has become. Just rubs me the wrong way. Karen's youngest sister has already moved back to Texas to be reunited with her long lost love, and Karen's middle sister is retiring this year and she and her fella are moving to Georgetown Texas. I guess I'll be joining them.

Oh well, I always loved Texas when I was stationed there, and I met my greatest love of my life there, what the hell. I'll miss Maryland crabs and seafood, but there's always the gulf shrimp.

Carl.

I hope you like Texas Carl. After growing up here in New Mexico I moved to North Carolina for about a year, then back here, then to Northern California, then back here. Yup, both coasts and all I can say is that I really miss the trees, and I plan to move from here after I get another degree.

Whoa, that's some big news, Carl!
As a native Marylander (Baltimoron, even... ;) ), I miss the Old Line State almost daily. The Chesapeake watershed, mainly. The Eastern Shore might be my favorite place on this blue planet, with Chestertown as the sun my heart orbits. Good luck starting this new chapter! We on the east coast will miss you, but luckily we can always swap friendly electrons over this here interweb. :D

Maybe this is a good excuse to get some of us together, so we can buy you a pint before you take off......? Ehh?
