"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Thanks fellas, he is an endearing rascal for the most part.

Well, he passed one test this morning. He didn't eat my neighbor's Yorkie when I brought him down there for a meet and greet. (They were a little suspicious of each other at first but got past it pretty quickly.) Planning on trying him with a Whippet and retriever in just a little bit if they're available.

Great stuff Elliott :) Hope you'll keep us posted

Hey Andi, you've gone all beer-shaped! :D And Gold! Congratulations pal!

Hi Jack,

Did great with three of the neighbor dogs: Yorkie, Whippet and Golden Retriever.

Had a little snarl-fest with a Toto-like dog that came running off its property to defend and try to bully and another little snarling act with a (generally nice) retriever that is allowed to roam loose around the area. (I seem to remember this dog doing the same once with Smoky despite their having played with one another nicely on other occasions. Go figure.)

Anyway, all in all a pretty positive morning with no blood and no barking.

(It's a miserable muggy day outside. I think it would be safer to stay indoors and drink beer the rest of the day. ;))

Whatever works...:p

I've got to decide between Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA, Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, Stone IPA and Oskar Blues' Dale's Pale Ale. (Oh, and the odd bottle of Chimay "blue".)

Decisions, decisions...:D

Sounds like a feast! Have a great day my friend :)

Thanks my friend :)

I thought it is time to support the forum a little more to show much I appreciate this great community.

I have been looking for a 2011 BF for ages and with no luck. So I am thinking of taking matters into my own hands. Would it be sacrilege to take a multi-blade trad, and convert one of the blades into a caplifter? If I'm not lynched for the suggestion; those of you who know about these things, what would be the best way to go about it?

Are you just after a knife with a cap-lifter Paul? I ask as there are other patterns about.

I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find a suitable knife for a conversion. Removing that much steel without ruining the HT would be a long job, but in this case maybe it doesn't matter so much if the blade is softened a little.

Or you could find an 85 2-blade jack and have someone disassemble it, then fashion a caplifter to replace the pen. I have no idea what something like that would cost.

Tons of patterns there are, but I have yet to find one I like. If you know of any that are similar to the 2011 BF... :)

Thanks, Ken, that means the world. Now if I could only remember the other message from that classic Who song..."we won't get fooled again!" :p

Blues, your pup's actions remind me of the story of the puppy that wanted a boy. He's just afraid other dogs will try to take the two of you, that's all. He's just gently reminding them that you're his now.

You're just a big ol' sentimental ball of fluff, aren't ya? (Yeah, me too!.):p
