"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Congratulations, Paul :)

Sarah - all the best to your son and for a safe return. This is definitelly a big step.

Well - just to give you a little update fellows - Everything is alright with Max and Sandra is fine too. I just had the chance to stay in hospital for a couple of days and will return in a couple of hours to stay for a couple of more days.... :)

Have a nice sunday, fellows!

^^ Good to hear all are well Andi. You all take care.

Sarah - congratulations for your sons commission.

I've had several rain-sodden and fruitless Quest trips recently, which I've not bothered to write up due to the lack of both knife content and time. I was in York on Friday, and the whole city centre was on the brink of flooding. Still, the local media seemed more concerned with other news!

A great headline Jack and well spotted. I had been wondering what had happened with the "York Snake Neglect Woman" !
I am still trying to work out how to post the results of my latest "finds".
Regards to all and thanks for those words of welcome to the forum. Sorry for this late response but I am not always around and go away a fair bit.
bye for now ... ADEE

Hi ADEE,

You need to set up an account with an Image Host such as ImageShack or PhotoBucket. Look forward to seeing your pics

Jack

Where to begin.

:D

I'm currently having horological difficulties of a very strange kind. Recently, my grandfather's pocket watch stopped working. This has been followed by my Citizen Eco-Drive solar-powered watch. Then my Cartier Tank suddenly stopped. I bought two inexpensive watches on Friday, and they've both stopped too. What is going on??!!

That's a pretty bizarre set of circumstances there Jack! I'd hang some garlic around my neck and not leave the house for a few days!;)

All within the past couple of weeks Gary!

Don't worry Jack, it's just a small rift in the space time continuum. Maybe related in some way to a certain quest! :D

P.S. sorry to hear about your grandfather's pocket watch, hopefully that one can be repaired.

Should I wrap my whole house in tin-foil?!

Just an inexpensive watch that one pal, probably just needs a clean (my grandather's wristwatch is still working for now). Service charge for the Cartier is over $300!

Paul my best wishes!! (Pics??)

Sarah, congrats to you and your son! Do I see a strong resemblance to an esteemed elder??

Andi, you are a lucky man!

Jack, I believe aluminum foil DOES work. Don't cover the chimney though - just keep a roaring fire burning!! (Pics??)
