Happy birthday to me! Speak of the devil, my wife bought me 2 Cuban cigars and a nice bottle of rum for my 42nd. I'm a happy man. :-)

Happy b'day and enjoy those cigars, Mark. I'd prefer bourbon but I guess rum will work as well!

Generally speaking, I would too. But 23-year-old Ron Zacapa from Guatemala is amazing. Like a fine cognac.

And thanks for the B'day wishes, guys. Time spent with my wife and kids is always great ..... but when there's cake and coffee and rum involved? :-)

*sighs* when I have bad luck, I have bad luck. I had new glasses for 2 months. Cost me pretty penny. I make investments to new glasses every 6-10 years. Last night I a box I was taking down slipped, knocked down my glasses and left 1"+ scrape on my hardened lense.

New single lense cost's me around $140 with work. Oh, well, time get rid off extra burden :D

Good luck man, on the way to work, the lens popped out of my brand new pair of glasses. A real PIA to turn around and drive to the Walmart to get the lens put back in. Don't laugh, my glasses were pretty expensive .

My glasses cost me around $474 with current currency. I can see without glasses sharp till my finger tips when my hand is stretched, beyond that I can't tell difference between rock and buffalo or speeding car with chain saw maniac on wheel.

Glasses are darn expensive.

On my way home today, I passed through a pretty little village a bit west of where I live. The Village of Skaneateles, NY sits on the northern end of a lake (one of the finger lakes) of the same name. The name is derived from the Iroquois word for "long lake".

I stopped to snap a picture of the Veterans Memorial and the flags that are flying there for Veteran's Day. Each flag had a placard with the name of a Vet on it.

God Bless all the Veterans.

That is a pretty picture. I was blown away while driving through Texas. I had to do business from Irving through Dallas Ft. Worth, and then drive to Houston as well. Those frontage roads are a bit whacky to deal with, but by the 3rd day I had it down. Anyways, what I love about Texas is that they fly Ol' Glory large, loud, and proud! I saw many extremely large American flags at auto dealers, and other businesses, many times with the Texas flag. It just gave me goosebumps. It made me feel a bit ashamed of CA, although I do love this state for many reasons. We just do not seem to be as patriotic, and that saddens me.

I spent a day fishing with my cousin in Corpus Christi out of our kayaks. I did OK picking up these nice slot reds and also three keeper trout. I came back yesterday and grilled the redfish on the half shell for dinner and then we watched the Pacquiao/Margarito boxing match. It was a good weekend!

The larger redfish had a spot shaped like a Cupid's heart on its tail.

At the end of the street where my cousin lives is an older man that restores old Fords. Here is a sweet little 1929 (I think) Ford. He had two others in the garage he was working on that looked like they were going to turn out equally nice.

Nice ones Luciano  Excellent post,Thanks,

Now that Ford is real nice. They used to make good looking cars (from 20's to end of 50's)... these days... not so much...

Comparatively with other auto producers of current day, that might of been the case several years back but these days there has been a marked improvement. I don't know if Finland has the latest Ford's at this time but they are quite popular here in the states as of late. They are also selling them like hotcakes and there bottom line is by far the best of the big three. Give 'em a look see, you may be surprised?

Just for grins and giggles, here is my poor mans street rod. A 1959 Chevy Apache step side. Yanked the original Blue Flame motor and the 3-on-the-tree transmission and sold them and got a built up small block 350 and automatic tranny. I know the old Gal don't look like to much but she'll get out of her own way.. :)

PS <> texasflyfisher -- Enjoyed your post a lot! Great day fishing. Fine old American antique automobile.

Thanks y'all!

Anthony, that is a Chevy anyone would be proud to have!

I had one other photo of the old fellow working on one of the other Fords. He was preparing to pull out the motor. He said that when it was originally installed on the Ford factory line, it probably took them 15 minutes to do it.
