On the subject of hats, I've had this one I picked up for young Rory sitting on my living room coffee table for the past two or three weeks! :o I reckon it's summer-weight, but thought the colours would go down well! ;) :thumbup: And there's even something to remind him of Uncle Meako :D I'll try to get it off in the post soon mate :)

Jack, hat n mittens arrived yesterday buddy! Thanks pal :)

We're all sick here. There is a vicious cold/flu virus going around the island and Claire got it. Then I did. Now poor Rory has it too. He won't keep food down and is wheezing and coughing. Poor wee mite.

I just got this in an e-mail and thought everyone might find this interesting. Anyone else have any old knife sayings?

PASSING THE BUCK / THE BUCK STOPS HERE
Most men in the early west carried a jack knife made by the Buck knife company. When playing poker it was common to place one of these Buck knives in front of the dealer so that everyone knew who he was. When it was time for a new dealer the deck of cards and the knife were given to the new dealer. If this person didn't want to deal he would "pass the buck" to the next player. If that player accepted then "the buck stopped there".

There was a fairly recent thread on this and other knife related sayings. Pretty interesting stuff. If I could find the original thread I'd merge this with it.
